My shoddy single bed woke me up again, wishing I was still asleep, I got up. I ran my hand through my hair, brushed my teeth and grabbed some toast as I left my house. The walk to school was long but I didn't want a lift.
"Mania!" I turned around and saw my friend Amber running after me, I didn't stop walking but she caught up. We usually meet at this point of the road, she's always so happy and talkative, I don't mind her walking me to school every day. She never stops talking, but its more of a comfort than an irritation, it means that I don't have to put anything into the conversation. We get to school soon, and I head straight to my first lesson, psychology.
""You can't love someone without imaginative sympathy, without beginning to see the world from another point of view. You can't be a good lover, a good artist or a good politician without this capacity" Who said this quote?" I looked around the class hoping someone would put their hand up so that there's less chance of me being picked on, but nobody did. Of course I know the answer, it would just be easier to not have to speak. Luckily before he can pick on someone, my only friend in this class walks in. "Welcome Jess, what's the excuse this time?" Jess is always late, she claims that her alarm is broke or hair train is late, but I know that she's been getting up later and later, I won't pry into it, maybe like me she wants to be left alone. The teacher forgets about the question and starts mumbling his common knowledge for the next hour.
The hours go quick and soon its lunch, I head over to my friends, "I'm so sad right now, I'm going to kill myself." My emo friend Mary moans. "Absolute mood!" Amber says, and as usual Jess says nothing to anyone but her best friend Sophie. I was intrigued with their relationship at the beginning of the year, I learned that despite originally being the same shyness since year 7, Jess was popular in primary school, but only had Sophie as her close friend now. But I guess that how it works. She's come out of her shell slightly unlike Sophie whom had stayed extremely quiet.
In year 9 I stalked her home, she refused to tell me where she lived even though I had made sure she thought we were friends by having parties I made sure that she attended. She lived within the vicinity of my friend Ethan, I knew this because I had got into a taxi that her dad coincidently worked in and he mentioned he didn't need a map and knew this area well because he lived near. So I went for a sleepover at Ethans and told him I was going to the shop at the bottom of the hill, but instead I walked around until I found a taxi parked outside a house. It had the same numberplate, and thus I found her address. She's worried constantly, and I don't understand why. It possible that she has a bad relationship with her parents but I met him and analysed him and he didn't seem to bad. She mentioned a few times that she was bullied in her old school by the popular kids, it must be strange to now be friends.
The same was to be said to about Amber and my innocent friend Katy. Amber and Mary bullied her in primary school. However, Amber seems to insist that she was being bullied. Amber is a people pleaser and won't admit it, everyone loves her, almost as much as they love Mary, everyone dotes over her, which is why I've made her the false leader of the group.
Her boyfriend Ethan told me he thinks that I'm the leader, but that because I led him to think that by telling him a few plans. However, I could afford to do that as he will still dote over Mary, he's forced to because they're in a relationship. They are the only ones in a relationship in our group aside Eliott, they think I should go out with Zach, whom is also in our group.
Before I was done monologging to myself the bell for fourth period went. The last 2 hours flew by and soon I was walking home. I had told Amber whom I usually walk home with that I was at my fathers house so I couldn't walk with her. That was a lie. My fathers in prison, he will be for a while. My mother has told me I have to fake my happiness and always be enthusiastic even if it is a lie, luckily she is usually at work. My step father works less often and I like talking to him less then my mother, so I quietly open the door and sneak quickly downstairs. We have three dogs, the smallest one, Bramble barks too much and often alerts my parents when I'm home, I open the door and am glad to find that they are on a walk with the walker.
Authors note: My first serious story, honestly I'm mostly venting and I'm likely to continue this story but not sure if I should post, so let me know if you enjoy it, I'll go into much more plot because this was mainly just a short introduction to the characters.
