Wish Wish

Chapter One

Jess checked her phone for the time. It was Friday and maybe, just maybe her weekend would be a successful one this once. The bell rang and she walked out class just as her friend Sam caught up with her.

"So, whatcha doing this weekend girl?"
"Nothing much, at Dad's place maybe. And you Sam?"
"Movie night at Ryan's--"
"You guys back and you didn't tell me?"
"Don't be mad Jess. Okay, it's just a movie night."
"He hurt you if I remember correctly and you--"
"Let me just hear him out, then we'll see how it goes."
"He's a nice guy though. Just be careful Sam."
"Thanks Jess. Anyways, how're you and Chad doing?"
"I dunno really Sam, he's been so distant. Says coach has been on their necks but he'll make it up to me but... I'm confused if he's still interested in us anymore Sam."
"You know I'll support you wherever, whenever even though I don't like him. Give it some time and see how it goes."
"Yeah, I think you're right. And where's Amy by the way? Is she nerding the week away? I'm thinking about hooking her up with someone."

Amy appeared from behind them startling them in the process.

"Nope, no date for me Jess. Perfectly fine going solo."
"Is that so gorgeous nerd?"
"Yup. I'll be working on something at home, you know the mathlete--"

"Okay, okay we get it hun." Sam chimed in. "But I heard there's a hot mathlete guy, the new dude in our class."
"Tony Drew...? Everyone's buzzing about him... Don't you dare Samantha Johnson, nah ah! I know that look. I'm not everyone, okay? He's handsome but it ends there. Besides, there's this online dating site--"

The two girls looked at each other and burst into laughter. Amy was a real nerd and she wasn't hiding it. Jess was still laughing when she spoke.

"Are you like forty or what hun? Okay then, no Tony Drew. What about Sean? He's a real hunk, and  not too outgoing. Just the kind of guy you'd like."
"I dunno Jess. "
"When she says that, she's considering it." Sam said.
"That's my dork. I'll pull my strings and you'll be sorted for prom maybe. "

A car honked as they went down the stairs to the parking lot. It was Sam's ride. Ryan was really trying to do a better job as the boyfriend. She tagged Amy along with her as Amy needed a ride home.

Jess was kinda stressed out. She was seeing less and less of Chad of late and it bothered her a lot. She wouldn't hear out Sam when she told her word was going round Chad had another girlfriend. Sam's dislike for him definitely.  How she wished Sam wasn't right, because maybe she was.

She sighed and got into her car and headed home. As she drove she couldn't help noticing a car following her? She began freaking out and dialed Chad's number, he always was her protection. Voicemail. She swallowed hard as the car took the same turn she took. She saw her house across the street and relief washed across her face. She  parked recklessly and rushed inside her house.

Nobody was home. Freaking awesome. Now someone's going to kill her or kidnap her. She started for the stairs when she heard a knock on the door. Thank goodness Anna left her baseball bat today. She picked it up slowly with one hand as she opened the door with the other ready to attack. She opened the door raising the bat swiftly only to be met with a handsome face.

"Whoa whoa whoa... Careful with that."
"What do you want?!"
"You dropped your phone when you rushed inside. I'm--"
"Tony Drew, new dude in my class . What are you doing in my street?"
"I live just across your house. We just moved here from--"
"Good day and thanks."  She said snatching her phone at the same time slamming the door in his face.
