"But I don't wanna go bro!" I whined stomping my foot on the floor. My parents tryna make Destiny and I stay at my grandparents house for the week end while Mari get to stay home as a 'Birthday Gift.'

Its not that we don't like to go over our grandparents house, we actually love it over there. It's just the kids that's annoying, they be outta pocket and don't have any respect. Last time I went over there our grandma told us so go find some friends and hang out with their neighbors kids.

We was chillin for a lil in they front yard but then they friends showed up and asked if we could all walk to the store wit them. The girls was loud and ghetto and the boys were some perverts.

We ended up walking all around the city from 11am to 9pm when it was 98 degrees outside wit 1 water bottle and a bag of hot crunchy curls.

We walked all the way to the pool and stuck in somehow and we sat on the chairs. We was all chillin n stalking then but then they started violating.

Me and Destiny was wearing some shorts and we had braids down our back touching our butt so they would pretend to play wit our hair and touch our booty. We told them to stop but they kept doin it so Kay Kay ending up beating them up and we had to walk all the way home in the dark and 9 o clock at night. luckily Lay Kay knew the way home because he was outside granny house the most, or we would have been lost. But every since then they always knock granny door apologizing and asking to be our friend again. We always say no but they keep trying.

"Right, we don't like going over there, those out west kids are dirty and ghetto." Destiny groaned throwing her head back in agitation.

"Destiny and Lelani, I'm not finna day it again, I don't care now go get y'all bags and say bye to Kamari!" Mama said rubbing her forehead. Mama been stressed lately ever since she found out Amari started gang bangin. I remembered the day she found out...

Daddy was at work, while Mama. Destiny and I was watching Love & Hip Hop on TV. He came stumbling in the house with blood all over his shirt. He couldn't even walk straight.

"OMG WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU!" Mama jumped up from the couch to go get Mari and make sure he didn't fall out.

"OMG Kay Kay!" my sister got up with her to lay him in the floor. He could barley catch his breath. He was losing to much blood. At first I thought it was a joke cuz Mari be playin all the time, so I wasn't worried and I just watched. But the moment I saw the tears running down Mama and Des faces I knew it was serious.

"LANI GO CALL YO DADYY NOW!" My mama yelled while cutting Mari shirt off to see when the blood was coming from.

I ran to the couch to go get my phone and call Pops. I dialed his number and waited 2 rings before I head him in the line.

"Pops!"

"What Lani, you know I told you not to call me unless it's an emergency."

"But it is an emergency!"

"You wanting money for some candy is not an emergency, bye Lelani."
