Evening The Next Day:
Kaoru joins the group he's supposed to be with, feeling utterly dead inside. The virus has scared lots of the visitors off, and the trip had to be cut short, making today the last day, since travel restrictions would be put into place by that time. If the restrictions weren't followed, the students would be stuck in France for at least 2 weeks.

The night before, Kaoru couldn't fall asleep and felt totally guilty for letting you get lost again, and was worried sick about what could've happened to you.

To his surprise, this morning he woke up with Hikaru's arms wrapped around him. Hikaru explained he knew his brother wouldn't be okay so he comforted him hugging him a lot and by putting on some of his emo music.

He wouldn't admit it- yet- but Kaoru thought the music was awesome cause it matched how dead inside and hopeless he's felt lately.

Utterly bored with looking at some empty classical French town, Hikaru excitedly asks Haruhi if they should go into a small, dark alleyway he finds and, of course, she responds, "no, we are supposed to stay with the rest of our class."

"Please," he begs, and asks his brother for help, though he knows he'll just be passive and brush it off. Taking Hikaru by surprise, his twin insists, "Come on Haruhi, it may be fun," surprising her as well.

"Are you feeling okay?" asks Haruhi, extremely concerned that he acted like his old self for a moment. She was overjoyed to hear that you were found, but, as the twins were, they were super worried about your safety since you disappeared without a word again.

"Yeah, I'm feeling better than I have been actually," he lies, trying to sound hopeful, just having a gut feeling that he should go into the dark alley. Also, he wanted to make Hikaru happy since his brother means a lot to him and has been doing all he can to make him feel better. Maybe someone will run out and kill me, putting me out of my misery.

"Let's go!" the twins shout in unison, and they each grab one of Haruhi's arms and pull her down the suspicion alleyway. Glancing over, Kaoru was glad to see that Hikaru seemed estatic that he was acting like his old self a little. After a while, they walk and emerge into a small plaza filled with homeless people and surrounded by buildings, creating a square with a decrepit fountain, cherubs carved into it on the side, dried of water, in the center of it all.

Scared out of her mind, Haruhi demands that they go back, but the twins are having too much fun. "Ooo someone's scared," Kaoru taunts her, and Haruhi makes that same shocked face at him at him acting happier than usual. "Yeah!" Hikaru chimes in, excited that his brother is showing some sort of emotion instead of the numbness he usual falls into, "Are you scared to go into that bar named... Tooters!" Hikaru reads, bursting out laughing.

"What? That can't be right," says Haruhi, looking at the building to the left of them, but, a huge glowing sign reads, "Tooters. The Tourist Hooters of France" Still laughing, Hikaru begs Haruhi to allow them to go in there. Oh, Kaoru thinks, that joyous feeling he faked already slipping away, I guess my gut was wrong. It led me to a stupidly named knockoff restaurant.

Getting on his knees, Hikaru whines, "Haruhi. How can we find a place that's named after a fart and not go inside!" Looking around, she wearily says, "these people all look dangerous. I wondered what got them here?" she adds, with a touch of sympathy. Turning to Kaoru, she asks him, "do you want to go in? I want you to be happy again, so it's your choice."
