Chapter one - Past Your Bedtime, Eva.
"So Evangeline, have he talked to you recently?" Amireta asked, scribbling down on her sheet of paper. She glanced up at me as I shook my head.
"He don't talk to me anymore." I whispered barley audible. I despised my therapist, my sessions and my mother. She thought I was crazy.
Suddenly, a little buzzer sound went off, signifying the end of a session. Amireta stood up, as did I and she opened the door for me.
"Well done Evangeline." She patted my back. She turned to my mother with a warming smile. "She made much process today, Mrs. Robin."
My mom set her book down in her bag, took off her reading glasses and looked up at Amireta and I. "Good." Was all that escaped her bony old lips.
My mother was naturally beautiful but since her and my father been going through a 'rough patch', her guard has been up and she avoids looking nice.
"Shall we get going, mother." I said in the most sickly sweet voice possible.
"Yes, let me just pay Miss. Redfurn." My mother got up from the chair and got the money from her back pocket. She passed it Amireta before saying a small "thank you."
We walked out of the building, it looked like a small dental office. We entered her car and my mother sighed. "Why are you like this, Eva?" She mumbled to herself.
It wasn't long until we arrived home. I grabbed my jacket from the back seat and got out the car. We lived in a small neighbourhood called Sunnyville.
Who the hell names a neighbourhood Sunnyville, right? Well my mother. She's the proud owner of Neighbourhood Community Comity, or the NCC.
I was greeted but my dad, he was the only one in the house who didn't think I was loco. My older sister, Quinn tried to make me into a mini her when I was 9.
It didn't end well -as you can imagine-. I started dating this boy called Billy Bridges. We all called him Billy Boogers because he always used to pick through them.
Well, on our first date, we were playing out in the garden and I saw him picking his nose. I squealed, told him that he was disgusting and if he ever came near me again, I'd call the police.
A few weeks after, Billy's dad got a job offer in Omaha and they moved. I was a little disappointed about my first ever boyfriend, but life goes on.
"Hey Chick," my dad smiled as my mother and entered the house. "There's a sandwich on the side, I know you get hungry when mum makes you go to that crazy woman."
"Amireta is not crazy." My mother spat at him through gritted teeth. He just rolled his eye's and padded into the living-room. I went in the oppisite direction, into he kitchen.
There, there was a cheese sandwich on the side. I realised the time was about half nine, at night once I have finished my food.
My eye's widened. "14 minutes." I bit my lip. "C'mon Eva, you can make it." I mumbled to myself as placed the dish in the sink. "Night dad." I kissed his cheek and ran to my room.
I changed into my pyjama's and brushed my teeth. I snuggled under the cover and closed my eye's, hoping I'd fall asleep soon enough.
"You're too late, princess." A deep voice cackled from the other side of my room.
I shot up, sweating already. I backed up against the head-board of my bed, looking in the corner of room, to find a dark shadow sitting in my chair.
The dark figure got up and walked over to my bedside. I closed my eyes tightly, hoping that he'd just leave. A cold finger skimmed my cheek. "I hate being ignore baby girl." He growled.
"No one's there." I bit my lip, trying to persuade myself that I was seeing things. His life-less hand, came flying across my face.
"Is someone there now, Evangeline?" He barked in my ear. I shuddered as he pull me out if bed by my hair. He pinned me against a wall. "Look at me!" He shouted.
I pried my eyes open, to be faced with a head full of blonde flippy and bland green eyes. I whimpered as he pushed me harder against the wall.
"Eva? Are you okay?" My dad shouted up the stairs. The man's face went close to my ear.
"Tell him everything's fine, you're just.. err... finding it hard to sleep." He smirked. I nodded.
"Everything's fine dad, just having sleeping problems." I shouted back, as my voice cracked slightly.
The scary man smirked and let me go, I fell to my knee's and I rubbed my wrist's. "Get up now." The man stood above me. I looked up at him, hovering over me.
I shakily stood up. He placed his hands on my hips and pushed him off. His eyes darkened and he gripped my hips harder. "Please-e sir, s-stop." My hands on his chest, trying to push him off.
"For the seventh time now, Eva, call me Harriet." 'Harriet' chuckled deeply.
"I can't call a man by his name if-"
"My name," he wrapped his hands around my neck. "Is Harriet George, and that is what you'll call me." He clutched my neck. I nodded.
I was fearful since I hadn't had this much contact with him. He'd normally just sit in my chair, stare at me and shout disgusting things.
"Say it." Harriet got close to my face. "Say, yes Harriet George." He whispered into my ear.
"Yes Harriet George." I struggled out. He chuckled before biting my lip. I immediately hissed out in pain, but he just chuckled.
"Now Miss. Robin," Harriet pushed me by the bed and placed his index finger on my lip in a harsh matter. "Wouldn't want to attract anyone now, would we?" He laughed.
I shook my head, but then I heard footsteps creak on the floorboards of the stairs. Harriet's attention was all out on the door. His eye's darken once more before turning to me.
"Until next time, princess." He cackled before slapping me. I laid down in my bed, as he vanished into a misted. I shut my eyes, faking my slumber as my sister walked in.
"What are we going to do with you, Eva?" She stroked my head. She then kissed my forehead and exited to get room.
