Emily paced back and forth in the bathroom. She ran her hands through her hair frantically before snatching her cell phone from the counter. Without thinking she opened the contacts app and pressed on the name she knew could help her.
"Hotchner"
"Aaron, it's me. I...need your help"
"Emily? Are you okay?"
"I'm okay, but my dad just showed up. Hotch I haven't talked to him in years and he came here saying he needs my help"
"Okay what can I do?" Hotch asked.
"He thinks he's been framed for murder"
"I'm at the bau. Come down here. We'll see what we can do"
Emily smiled.
"Hotch are you sure? You don't need to do that. I'm sorry I called you"
"Nonsense. See you soon"
After hanging up Emily shoved her phone into her back pocket and sighed before leaving the bathroom. She felt uncomfortable having her dad there. She did not know what to say to him. She had not seen him in many years after he disappeared from her life.
Emily went back out to the living room and explained to her father that they were going to the BAU. He agreed quickly and they hopped into Emily's suv. She sped down the familiar streets with her dad in the passenger seat.
"I'm sorry about this, I didn't know where else to go" he said softly.
She nodded.
"I actually don't work for the fbi anymore but the team will help you"
"What? what happened? why not?"
"Nothing, it's fine. Now are you going to tell me more?"
Emily didn't know how to act around him. She wanted to help him of course, it's in her nature to help everyone around her but she still had some negative feelings towards him from abandoning her and her mother.
"Some bad people are coming after me. They've threatened to take out all my family and friends as well as me. I'm not a bad guy Emily it's just complicated"
She didn't say anything in response and minutes later they were pulling into the parking lot at Quantico. Emily checked in at the front desk and they rode the elevator up in silence. Emily felt nervous before walking through the glass doors. She hadn't seen anyone since resigning. She walked into the bullpen with her father in tow. Garcia had been hovering by Morgan's desk and when she turned around she gasped and walked speedily to Emily.
"Oh my gosh! are you back? what are you doing here!? We miss you so much em"
Emily smiled and hugged Garcia.
"Aaron didn't tell you I was coming?"
"Aaron? Since when do you call him Aaron?"
"We're here for some help" Emily gestured to her father, "I'm sure Hotch will gather you guys in a bit"
"I'll let you go see boss man but we're talking more later" Garcia said with a sigh and a squeeze on the arm.
With that Emily and her dad headed up the stairs and she knocked on the first door.
Hotch opened it almost instantly and smiled.
"Hey" he said casually and moved to the side to allow them in.
"Good to see you" She smiled back and walked in followed by her father.
Hotch extended his hand.
"I'm ssa Aaron Hotcher""Thank you for agreeing to help me, I'm Elliot" The two of them shook hands.
"Have a seat guys" Hotch said as he walked around his desk and sat.
The other two sat down as well. Hotch twirled the pen in his hand.
"Tell me everything" He said.
Fifteen minutes later the three of them left Hotchs office.
"Guys, round table in 5" Hotch called over the railing to the people in the bullpen.
Everyone scrambled to grab whatever they needed and hurried up the stairs to meet them. Everyone settled around the table chatting lightly. Reid and Garcia sat on either side of Prentiss.
"It's good to see you back here" Reid said with a sweet smile.
"You miss me already huh?" She nudged him gently.
"Of course we miss you!" Garcia clung to Emily's arm.
"Okay let's get started" Hotch said as he positioned himself at the front of the room.
