As we walk in the lights are strobe, there's cups everywhere and people playing cup pong in the living room. I don't drink much, but if it happens, it happens.

Marisa sees a few people she says hi to but we walk to the kitchen. I put concealer over my bruises as much as i could, i hate being insecure. Its mainly seniors but no one has a problem with Marisa and I, or at least they wont say it. 

Brayden gives me a hug when i see him and we talk a little. He's a senior and is quite popular, but he also used to be like a brother to me. 

"You seen Ry?" i ask after we chat.

"Yeah shes by the pool," He says with a smile, and i tell Marisa ill be right back as shes talking to Brayden's friend.

I see her sitting with her feet in and a cup in her hand, and there's people all over the back yard.

"Hey bitch," I say and sit next to her and sip her drink.

Malibu. 

She laughs.

"You're high as hell."

"I know" I say and we both laugh.

"So, you ready to get lit tonight?" She asks and winks at me.

"Lit how?" I ask with a smile.

"Come with me," she says and grabs my hand, leading me inside. 

We walk to the cup pong table and two guys are playing two girls and the girls are about to lose.

The boys make the last cup and the girls dont make their redemption, as they drink the last cup standing.

"We're next," Riley says, and i get caught off guard.

I haven't played this in so long, but Riley and I used to be the queens of this game. 

We fill up all the cups with a shot of malibu, our choice, and the boys do the same. 

With everyone standing around watching, it gets intense fast. I see the door behind the boys and people coming in and out. We make two cups but they did too, so we drink the two shots. 

Talking shit and playing is actually really fun, we had people rooting us on and others behind the boys. 

Mid-game i see a tall guy and dark-hair girl walk in and i looked away.

Jack's here. 

I doubt he even says a word to me, im no one to him. He's with his girl and im just trying to have a fun time. I dont know if he sees me but we keep playing and Riley and I have three cups left, im honestly feeling a little crossed.

I like it. 

We lost after multiple redemption shots but we laugh it off and go sit on the outside couch. I haven't seen Marisa but i doubt she's looking for me, im assuming Christian showed up. 

"You drunk yet?" Riley asks as i sit on the couch next to her and a senior, Ian. 

"Not yet," I laugh and she does too. I see across the pool Jack sitting with a few of his guy friends and some girls, i recognize Nate and Sam as ive gone to school with them forever. 

We get up and go to the table of alcohol by the pool. I grab a beer and she takes a Mike's and we walk up to Brayden and his friends. 

"Lot of people here Bray, you did good," Riley says and pats his back.

I laugh as we all stand in a circle and i finish my beer. I back up for a new one and look next to me. Jack grabbing a beer almost at the same time as me.

"sorry" I mumble and laugh, letting him grab one first.

He looks in my eyes and smiles. "Someone's having fun. I didn't know you were the type to get crossed. I dont see you at partys" He says, handing me the beer he grabbed.

I pop off the lid and take a sip, "Yeah, well, I do have some qualities most people don't see," at this point, i feel carefree and relaxed.

"I'm more of a smoker myself, but you only live once right," He says and opens a beer himself.

I drink a little more and just look at him. He's honestly kind of attractive. I haven't really looked at him for this long. 

"Now we do share one thing in common then" I smile and dont even know why hes still standing here talking to me while his girl is probably watching us, waiting for him.

He looks me up and down and grins, "Well don't get too fucked up. Ill see you around," and he walks back around the pool to his group. 

I stand back next to Riley and get on my phone, snapping Marisa 'where are you?'

We all decide to go inside and sit on the couches. I'd say there was about 8 of us and Riley right next to me. Marisa never replied so i just drank my beer.

Music playing, lights vibing, and me feeling this way makes me miss the old days. Before I got harassed by an older boy, before I hated going to school, before everything. 

"How bout we play truth or dare?" A guy Trevor suggests and we all kind of agree.

"You start," Bray says back and we all laugh. 

I haven't played this game in so long, but I'm drunk and high I could play anything right now. 

"Alright, Riley, truth or dare?" He says.

"Dare," she says, smiling.

He thinks for a second and smiles, "I dare you and Adelynn to make out"

I knew they were gonna pull some dumb shit. I laugh and we look at each other. Fuck it.

"Easy," She says, looks at me, and our lips connect. 

It wasn't just a small kiss, it was the whole thing. Tongue, hair grabbing, intimacy. It was only about 20 seconds but felt so much longer. The boys were going crazy and by the time we were done i see a few people passing by smiling and saying funny shit. 

And then i see jack walk back out the door. I didnt even see him come inside, i wonder if he saw that. 

"Alright, Ian. Truth or dare?" Riley asks and we keep playing like nothing.
