The bell rings right as I open the door with my bag slung onto my side. I'm assuming Mrs. Terry thinks Christian got ahold of me again, so she glances at me as the entire class stares at me and doesn't mark me tardy. As usual.

I sit next to Marisa and she's writing something down in her notebook, English was getting easier as the school year was coming to a close. Closer and closer to the day I'm a senior.

We just had written a ten paragraph essay on Romeo and Juliet, which I aced. We were just chilling out and doing small little assignments to pass time. Marisa and I were one of the only Juniors in this class, the majority were Seniors.

I remember as a freshman I dreaded the day I'd have classes with the upperclassmen. Now I am an upperclassman, just next year I'll graduate. Somethings thrown at my neck, it was sharp and hard, and Marisa and I both turn around to see Adam laughing.

He sat with Kyle, and I flipped them off. Knowing I probably just fucked up, because Christian would kick my ass twice as hard for offending his allies. We stop when Mrs. Terry calls Adam out and Marisa and I turn back around.

"Sorry, they're dicks. Anyways, sorry I couldn't pick you up or give you a heads up. I woke up late and showed up here five minutes to the bell. I figured you'd speed your way here." She claims.

"It's alright, I got a ride from somebody. And my mom stocked my credit card. We still going after school?" I ask.

"Yeah. Let's hit up the mall, they have some good outlets." She smiles and we pay attention to our assignment.

Bell rings and I get out of class carrying my two books.

"Adelynn, wait" I hear a guy say from behind me and turn to see Adam.

I groan and keep walking but he stops me by grabbing my arm.

"What, dude?" I say annoyed, grabbing my arm back.

"Sorry about that. Kyle told me to. And about yesterday, when Christian tripped you in the parking lot, he shouldn't have done that. I'm trying to get him to stop and all but if I make it out like I'm on your side he'll do way worse to me than he's ever done to you. " he says, looking sincerely.

I don't know whether he's playing a joke on me or being honest.

"Uh it's fine. It could've been way worse?" I say, questioning what to even say.

"Yeah, alright. Well, I'm gonna get to class. Don't walk down the senior hall, that's where Chris will be," he says as he walks away, almost in a whisper.

By the time hes gone i was still questioning why he would even warn me. He's always hated me and gives me a hard time, and all of a sudden he's trying to protect me? What's with the two guys trying to save me now out of all the times.

I walk to the bathroom in the junior hallway and run into an old friend, Riley, who i fell off with once i became besties with Marisa.

"Hey girl," she says to me with a smile as i walk in.

"Hey Ry, haven't seen you in a minute," i reply back, going to stand by her in the mirrors.

"Well you seem to be preoccupied with your new friends," she said almost as a joke "Ive missed you though."

"Yeah well, i wouldnt even know if i have any friends at this point," i sigh and look at my slightly bruised face, and she notices just like i do.

"You know you could stand up for yourself, you dont deserve someone who doesnt appreciate your worth." She looks directly at me, making me wonder if she knows how this happens.

Marisa has sorta always been there. Then she started dating Christian, and things changed quick. You can only imagine how he treats his girl by the way he treats someone he barely even knows, just for fun.

"Yeah," i slighty smile "Im working on it."

I know the bell will ring here soon, but talking to Riley is a rare thing nowadays.

"Well, im gonna get out of here. My brother's throwing a party to celebrate formal coming up tonight. Im sure youve heard, but it'd be nice if you came. Ill be there waiting for a friend by the pool if you feel up to it." She says with a smile and walks out of the bathroom.

I feel like i haven't been to a party in so long. The last one i went to i went with Marisa and she ditched me for Christian almost the whole time.

As i walk out of the bathroom to class i don't see christian or any of his associates, which is a stress reliever. I sit down at my second class of the day and cant help but daydream. What if i did go to the party? I could use a little fun right now.
