Blackjack flapped his wings in a powerful beat as he glided over the Atlantic sea. The ocean was sparkling brightly under the rays of the warm sun. The black pegasus flew high but made sure not to reach over the clouds and near a few feet from the water.

It was another beginning of summer. And one godling was enjoying it as much as he could.

Hey boss, Blackjack neighed, You sure we shouldn't be heading back now?

The black haired teenager riding on his back grinned. His jet black bangs flying in his face as the hot salty wind swept past his face.

"No way Blackjack, were staying as far away from camp today" said Percy.

Whatever you say boss, the horse replied, though, does this have anything to do with a blonde hair, stormey grey eyed, daughter of Athena back in camp?

Percy glared at his steed.

"It has nothing to do with her" he said.

Blackjack neighed a retort,-and something about doughnuts-. Percy swore he saw him roll his eyes. The legacy of Posiedon frowned and focused his attention on the blue ocean down below him.

He left camp for a while to get some space. Atleast, that was his excuse. Truth was, his pegasus was right. It was about Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena and their very recent break up. Despite being the one who broke it off, that didn't mean he did not have the gut feeling to get as far away from camp then.

Camp. It had been his home ever since his mom had died in The Battle of New York. It took a long while, but the haunting dreams have finaly stopped and he had made his peace with her death. His battle with Melinoe had helped him get through that. He had just started his sophomore year in Goode high, the one school he actually felt right going to.

He had surprised himself by making the first year. It had only been last years since his battle with Kronos in the second Titan war. He did a brilliant job in leaving the demigods to battle and defeating Kronos. Luke had died in the end by sacrificing himself to save them from Kronos, he was the real hero in the war.

Percy had been officialy labeled leader of Camp Half-Blood. Everywhere he went he was noticed and to the new canmpers, treated with upmost respect. He had loved camp since it was his only home, but right now, he felt like he needed some time away from home.

Hey boss, Blackjack neighed. Percy sighed in annoyance.

"Blackjack, I told you, I just want to be away from camp for a while"

No boss, it's something else, he neighed sounding alarmed, We have...uh...an incoming.

Percy's head snapped up to see a black speck in the group of white clouds ahead of them. At first he thought it was some kind of UFO when he continued to squint, after a few minutes it came close enough for him to identify what it was.

His eyes widend apprehensively.

"Oh Styx" he blurted out as he saw the large black jet coming his way, fast.

It was almost as fast as lightning as it came speeding through the clouds and cutting past the wind. Percy felt like a target about to be hit by a speeding bullet. Immediately he gripped on Blackjack's mane.

"Dive!" he orderd.

Obeying, the pegasus spiraled down. They had gotten out of the jet's direction by just a handful of seconts before it flew past them, knocking the wind out of Percy's lungs and nearly pushing him off of Blackjack.

Blackjack also stumbled in the air and momentarily lost his balance.

Everything suddenly went slow when the hero of Olympus turned his head to the jet to see the eagle symbol on the jet's side.

Percy was breathing hard. He had come close to becoming a bug on the jet's windsheild. He ran a hand through his hair before whirling his head to the still speeding jet.

Blackjack was snorting and neighing loudly in irritation.

What was with that thing? It could've killed us!

Percy didn't answer back as he watched the jet fly off further away from them.

"Blackjack, we need to turn around" he mutterd.

Why now boss? You were vehement on not going anywhere near camp.

"I was"

His sea green eyes narrowed. He felt his stomache curl as fear pinched  his gut as he kept his eyes trained on the jet.

"But it's heading straight to Long Island"
