I was in my nicest pair of dark skinny jeans and a plain black fitted t-shirt. I straightened my hair for the first in a while and pinned back my bangs because they would get in the way when I was performing. I had to bring my hip hop shoes and my hat to cover my face and hide my true identity. I should just call the club and tell them I can’t work tonight, they know about my ballet schedule and they would be cool with it. I should just go, I haven’t gone in a few days and I really need to go and work. I thought to myself. I walked into Dan’s bathroom to finish my hair and make-up when there was a knock on the door.

“Hey, can I come in?” Phil voice said behind the door.

“Yeah sure,” I replied, “What’s up Phil?” I asked not turning my attention away from the mirror.

“Well, I just have a question to ask you…” he shoved his hands in his pockets not breaking eye contact with the tile bathroom floor.

“Ask away,” I said, putting on mascara.’

“Are you Lil Tic?” he asked.

My eyes widened, I froze and made eye contact with him through the mirror. I should just tell him, he can keep a secret. I placed my lipstick on the edge of the counter and walked over to the door and gently closed it. I turned around and leaned on the door, sighed, “Can you keep a secret?”

He shook his head.

“Yes, I am. But how did you know?” I questioned.

“Well, I have at that club down the street, next to your ballet studio,  a couple of times and seen you hang out after you perform talking to some of the staff. Also you backpack was open and I recognized the shoes and hat. “He explained.

“Phil, nobody can know about this, not even Dan. Can I trust you?”

“Yes, you can trust me.” He pulled me in for a big hug.

“I’m glad I can finally tell someone about this. It has been killing me but I need to keep my identity a secret.” I said into his plaid shirt.

Phil pulled away from the hugged and asked, “Why haven’t you told Dan?”

I took a step back, “Because of Mindy, they share everything and I do not trust her.” I confessed.

“I understand, come talk to me anytime you need to. Now come on Dan and Mindy are waiting for us in the lounge.” Phil said as he left the bathroom.

“I’ll be out in a second and Phil…”

“Yeah,” he quickly turned around.

“Thank you.

He smiled, “No worries.” And left.

I turned back to the mirror and stared at my reflection before finishing my make-up. Maybe I should tell Dan. He is my friend after all. I can trust him right?
