It had three no four days since Johnathan came to. He had just ran out of the snacks he had in his bag the day before. He hurt everywhere, was covered in scrapes and bruises, there was a nasty gash on his forehead that caused his head massive pain, he was hunger, in pain, cold, alone, his clothes covered in blood that was not his own, and worst of all he was lost. He had been wandering aimlessly in the woods those days in a tragic state not thinking his mind totally blank the first day. Then when night would come he would cry himself to sleep and wake up every hour in a state of terror screaming for his parents. His younger brothers cold dark eyes would burn into him every time the young boy would close his eyes. Yet it didn’t seem like enough he thought as he spun on his heels to run as a shadow appeared before him.
“STAY AWAY FROM ME!!” Johnathan shrieked as he fell to the ground trying to drag himself away from the man that had appeared out of the bushes. Tears running down his dirt and blood stained face as he cried. “PLEASE DON’T KILL ME.”
“Hey, hey calm down. I’m not gonna hurt you.” The man said calmly, but the purple haired youth didn’t seem to hear.
“Father, Jackie I’m sorry,” The child sobbed barely even choking out the next words audibly, “if you're going to kill me do get it over with fast I have nothing left anyway.”
“Your father must be rolling in his grave, what about the sacrifice he made for you and your brother to live and this is how you repay him?!” The man snapped.
“But Jackie is gone...all..my fault.” Johnathan choked on his words.
“Yes, its a tragedy that your little brother and father have passed, but what about your mother she is still here and probably worried sick about you!” The man said as he picked Johnathan up by the back of his shirt. In return the boy struggled and lashed out pitifully like a fish that had been out of the water too long. “Hey stop it this is just pitiful I’m not gonna hurt you I’m your friend, Lupus remember I helped you. And I’m gonna take you home to your mother.”
“Mother…...I forgot about her. You're that guy from before.” Johnathan whispered his voice barely audible as the last bit of fight left his body and he passed out cold his body going limp.
“You poor thing,” Lupus said softly as he put the boy on his back, “to have gone through so much pain, but time makes everything better. Let me get you home to your mother.”
~.............~
“Yet that pain wasn’t enough it seems, how can fate be so cruel.” Lupus muttered as he leaned outside of the bedroom were inhuman sounds of agony could be heard, “to think that his mother would die from illness only a few minutes after he arrived.” He added recalling the wretched scene that had just transpired in front of him.
Johnathan sat next to the bed holding his mothers cold hand. She was so thin, barely even about to say those last words: ‘I’m so happy your safe Johnathan; it might be hard but lets work hard to rebuild our lives together. I love you.’. The other people of the village said she had fallen sick after our disappearance and her health had turned to the worst when she learned of the fate of her husband and son, and that you were missing but how I didn’t think it was this bad, he thought his blue eyes bloodshot red from all the tears that had fallen.
“Kid I know its hard but you need to come with me. Your family is all gone crying will do nothing about it-” Lupus was cut off boy the young boy running out of the house into the woods. “Hey, hey. I wasn’t even done talking.” He added scratching the back of his head.
Johnathan ran through the woods. He ran as fast as he could to get away from this reality. Water rolled down his face, but it wasn’t tears for he couldn’t cry anymore. The rain made the ground muddy causing him to fall on his face as he screamed in frustration.
“Kid; you can’t run from the past. Now you have two options you can be an orphan or-” Lupus tried to explain calmly yet was cut off again.
“HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT! I HAVE NOTHING NOW!” He continued to scream.
“Will you SHUT UP!” The dark haired man snapped shocking Johnathan into silence. “Now that I have your attention you have to choices to continue living life in self pity and despair as an orphan or to become a soldier and fight to keep tragedies like this from happening to others. I’m sure you are probably an animal tribe member from your father. It’s your decision boy.” He added sternly as he reached his hand out to the boy.
Johnathan sat there flabbergasted by the sudden change in the man's personality. Yet if he could keep this from happening to someone else he would he thought bitterly as he took the man’s hand.

After that everything changed he trained hard, grew strong, made many friends, and killed the man that killed his family. That man Lupus was there for him the whole time. Everything he had now was truly thanks to the strange man. Johnathan thought as his mind was pulled back to reality by the rain that was starting to fall in that graveyard.
“Even nature mourns your loss.” He snapped bitterly as those old scars felt fresh again.
“Mother, father, Jackie, and now Daniel.” He clenched his fist tightly trying to keep the tears from falling his body trembling, “Damn it! Nothing has changed I CAN’T PROTECT ANYTHING!” He thundered falling to his knees the warm tears a strong contrast from the cold rain. He calmed himself down after about ten minutes and gazed at the flowers that were placed; and swallowed thickly.
“Don’t worry Danny I learn from my mistakes I might have not been able to protect you but I will protect the others. DJ, Spike, Tsume, Kiba, their kids, and most importantly Mel. I will keep her safe no matter what just like you would have. So you can rest in peace old friend.” Johnathan whispered softly his blue eyes shined with a new found conviction yet still misty from sorrow as he turned his back on his past to move forward to the future once again.
