The plane arrived at the San Francisco international Airport at exactly 22:35, that same night.
Back in Las Vegas, after booking my flight. I had also booked a room, in Mylo hotel. I then took a cab there.
"Hello, my names Elizabeth Griffiths. I made a booking earlier." I told the fine lady, at the lobby of the hotel.
"Just give me a minute," she spoke, pressing some keys on her desktop and looking at the screen, attentively. At the meantime, my eyes roamed around the place admiring the beautiful scenery around me. "OH here it is" She finally said. Then raised her head to look at me, surprised. "You are Lizzie!"
Great, a fan...
I am smiled at her. Putting a hood on my head, covering my face. I'm trying to run away, how am I going to do that while everyone keeps recognizing me. "I'm a big fan of yours." She said, flashing the biggest smile I've never seen in my life before. You know the good thing about my voice, is that it doesn't affect women. Its main target are men. That's one of the reasons I became a singer. I thought that, out of all the billion men being affected by my voice, there are also a billion women who are not. "I thought you'll be going back to New York after the tour to start working on your new album."
"I haven't taken a holiday for a long time, so I've decided to take one now." I said, trying my hardest to remain confident. But I wasn't entirely lying about the holiday thing. I've been working my ass out, ever since I joined FOX entertainment. Manager Kim and that boss of hers, Mr. Collins, are vultures when it comes to money, and I've been their predator, hunting for them. Using my cursed voice.
And what's with her, what's so hard to just finalize the paperwork and hand me the keys, so I can rest and think of where to go next. I can't continue living here, especially now that she had seen me. "That's wonderful news, you really do deserve a break." She said, taking the room key card, "Here you go. Hope you enjoy your stay with us."
Well, I won't be staying here for long, thank you very much...
"Thank you" I said, taking the key card from her hand. I took the lift to the third floor, where she said my room was in. I walked at the corridor looking for number 22, until I found it. I swipe open the door and went inside. I didn't have time to admire the beauty of the room as I was exhausted and drained.
I took a long, hot bath. When I was done, I sat on the bed, removed my laptop and started searching for hotels or manors in California. I'm sure by tomorrow, they'll begin their search for me and San Francisco will be the first place to look.
On my search I found the Cambria pine lodge. It's located near the Pacific coast highway, amidst 25 acres of the garden and the pine forest. "Don't this they'll find me there," I said to myself, as I dialed the lodge's number on my phone, and it rang within seconds.
"Good evening! Thank you for calling the Cambria pine lodge. How may I help you this evening?" Asked a warm voice, at the other end. She sounded nice and friendly.
"Hello, I'm... I was just calling to check if you might have any available rooms for tomorrow?" I asked her, with my finger's crossed. Praying for them to have a room, it's only for tomorrow, just for tomorrow then I will move on the next day. Just for tomorrow please.
"Just give me a second to check." She said, as I nodded.
Please have a room, please have a room, please have a room...
"We have some guest leaving tomorrow morning. What time will you be arriving?"
"Ahh" I don't know, I'll be taking a bus tomorrow. I can't afford blowing this up by flying. "let's say around two to three. To be really honest I don't know, I'm in San Francisco right now and will take an early bus tomorrow morning so I really don't know when I will arrive." I felt like a teenager complaining to her mother, while telling her all that. Hope she doesn't think I'm a talkative weirdo or something.
