Nessa ignored the stares she was being given and walked up to where I was giving me a formal greeting and standing next to me.
" You should be doing your homework puppy." I whispered over to her.
" I have an addiction to drama and danger so I'll hang on a while." She chuckled.
I nodded to Marcus to let it go for just tonight and I could see how hard it was for him not that I cared añyway. He deserved to feel all the guilt he could feel.
Nessa excused herself to go to the washroom which gave me space to join my council at the high table. I had ordered a place to be set for her though I didn't want my father bullying her.
" Low blow Kingston , I didn't know you had it in you." Cian commented as we sat.
" Orders from Katherine." I comment as they turned to me in horror.
" What is with you and this dark humor? Get over her dude!" Liam seemed pissed off. Why did I always seem like the devil to them?
" Nessa said Katherine told her she should come."
" So she's alive?" Miranda was hopefully as her hands went to her chest in a prayer mode.
" I don't know." I let out a sigh." We can't just take Nessa's word for it."
" She's her sister, the only family she had, it will make sense if she looked for her first." Ambrose commented.
We all sat in silence deep in thought creating scenarios in our heads. I mean anything could have happened.
The night went quite well and everyone was more than willing to have a Petrova in the council some saying it was their birth right. There was a part of this whole thing we didn't know about and honestly at this time it was not on my list of priorities.
Nessa was by my car by the time I had bid the others goodbye and I unlocked it for her to enter as I took the driver's seat.
" What's up puppy?" I could sense she was trying to tell me something, maybe if I asked first it'd make it easier for her to talk.
She looked out the window seeming completely in thought and I let her be, turning on some music low enough for it to be soothing instead of uncomfortable.
I parked right in front of their house remembering how Katherine had come out in her robe the night she was looking for Nessa.
" I'm sorry." She bowed her head ." I really wanted to come to the party and I knew you wouldn't let me unless it was from Katherine. So I made it up." She was playing with her hands seeming like she waited for a scolding.
Not that I wouldn't want to scold her for giving me hope then shattering my heart like that but she was still a girl and she was just chasing after what she wanted.
" That was a dangerous move puppy. Your sister asked me for only one thing. That I should take care of you. I can't fail her twice." I told her my thoughts coming back to the night she died then I murmered a good night.
She nodded seeming relieved then she left for their house, I knew I had to tell her sooner or later but it didn't have to be now. Not when she was so happy.

" You're going to see Reca's estate today." Marcus said as he finished his breakfast.
Reca had been known to be the most stubborn client of my father as he and his Mafia weren't that good at taking Marcus's orders.
I wouldn't blame him, I mean I share blood with him and I still don't like him but they had to know they were under new management and I wasn't going to take bull from them.
I left in the Range Marcus used for business so that it would alert them that the boss was coming from far.
What?
Yes I had my ego.
I arrived in Reca's estate in about 45 minutes finding his men already armed. I was excited.
I saw Liam text me to ask why I went alone but I ignored it. No one said I always had to have them by my side plus I wanted to blow off some steam. I didn't want anyone controlling my limits.
" So you're the new boss , aye." Reca said in a Mexican accent.
" I have a problem with how you respond to issues and I don't know if my father let it slip but I won't." I muttered coldly.
" Listen here boy.." I took out my gun and shot one of his men making the rest snap to their senses and point their guns at me.
" I wasn't asking m.a.t.e." I made sure to lace my statement with command. Show them who was in charge.
" Okay boss." Reca replied telling his men to stand down as I got back to my range.
I had a gut feeling this had been to easy but as for now I'd take fun in the fact that they had to answer to me. Every single thing.
I hit the road planning to get the guys to finally decide if we'll give Katherine a temporary grave or we'll make up another lie for next week at school.
My car lost grip as is swayed on the dusty road firmly coming to a stop.
I was taken from the car a little too willingly because at that moment, after thinking of her part of me wanted to join her and if these people killed me I'd finally find inner peace.
I felt myself being put in another vehicle and I could tell I was being brought back to Reca's estate.
Typical.
They tied me up such that my feet barely touched the ground then proceeded to beat me up as maybe punishment for having killed one of their own.
I knew it had been a little too easy when he had let me go that easy.
" Don't kill the bastard yet." His voice boomed in the room. " Gimme some spirit let's clean this wounds huh?" He said as Cotton came to contact with my skin rather roughly causing a stinging pain in my body.
" I'm not sure if I should just kill you right now to show your father I can over throw him or I should keep you here for a while and see if he'd care at all." He burst out laughing.
If only he knew killing me would be solving the problem, I silently hoped he chose to kill me.
They left me there for what seemed like hours and I could tell it was nightfall by the change in temperature.
The sac over my head was removed and I came face to face with the end of a pistol and behind it Reca's face.
" Your father doesn't believe I can kill you pretty boy and I'm sick of him walking around with his commands." He cocked his gun. " Save some space for me in hell ." He chuckled wickedly as his men started dropping one by one then an arrow went through his shoulder making him drop his gun.
" The poison your men took worked in lesser minutes than I expected which is good for them but the poison in that arrow is going to go much worse to you." A feminine voice joined us in what seemed to be the garage.
Maybe it was cian, she had a secret fantasy for sharp weapons and perfect aim.
" You should have known it won't be that easy to kill me either." I spat at Reca on the ground where he had started looking pale.
I painfully tried to free myself but the girl walked up to me and did it herself after seeing I couldn't handle it well.
" I thought you could handle yourself Kingston." She said as I brought my gaze to look at my guardian angel.
" Taurus?"
" Miss me?" She grinned.
