After searching, in a slight panic, for Prince Gray I found him showing more of his magic to a group of kids who had gathered around him. When I finally reach him I call out his name, slightly breathless from rushing through the crowd. I wish it was because of the physical strain, but I knew it was from my almost-kiss with Natsu.
"Prince Gray!"
He looks up at me, unphased by my sudden arrival at his side, and he finishes his show much to the children's dismay. They clamor for more but he shakes his head and tells them to run along and find their parents.
"I see you have returned from taming the beast," he turns to me and I purse my lips.
"That is hardly the case," I huff.
He smirks, "Oh please, Princess. I grew up a royal, I know the Dragneels and their... tempers, well."
I brush some hair behind my ear, biting back a comment about how it had been partially his fault that Natsu's temper had flared. Instead, I huff, "Well, he was just a little upset. It was hardly worthy of being called a temper." I shake my head as Gray smiles, and I quickly change the subject.
"You used magic earlier, I hadn't ever seen it in person. Magic, I mean. It was lovely."
"Ah yes, I forget the Dragons do not display their fire magic often do they?" Gray questions and I shake my head in response.
"I have yet to see it," I tell him. He nods as we begin to walk around the festival grounds again.
"Fire magic is much more dangerous and exhaustive than that which my family uses. It is really quite unsurprising that they no longer display their power." He looks over at me as we reach the end of the festival grounds. "Thank you for being my escort," he smiles, "this is where I shall part ways with you for now. I have negotiations with your dear King."
One of his guardsmen bows towards him and Prince Gray begins to make his way back towards the castle. With that, I take a deep breath and turn back into the festival. The sun has begun its descent, and I was determined to find my friends and enjoy myself. It didn't take me long to accomplish as Mira was busy with her stall. As soon as I caught her eyes I let out an involuntary shriek and ran to hug her.
"I have missed you," she sighs into my hair as she hugs me.
"I have missed you too, so much!" I squeeze her. "Are you well?" I ask as we separate.
"Just fine, the Prince has been very generous with my business since you left." She grins and I pause.
In confusion, I ask her, "What do you mean?"
She looks at me strangely, "He has put my shop in charge of tailoring clothes for the royal family, I have made half of your wardrobe silly goose. Did he not tell you?"
I back up and shake my head. "I had no idea," I look at her and smile. "Your work is lovely as always, thank you, Mira. I hate to leave so quickly but I need to find Levy," I wave and quickly turn and leave without another word. My heart has caught in my chest and I search desperately for Levy. When I finally see her she is giggling and talking with the owner of a stall where second-hand books are being sold.
"Levy!" I shout and she turns to me and smiles, waving me over. I hurry over and as soon as she sees the look on my face she asks me what is wrong.
I shake my head and laugh, "You knew that he was helping Mira, didn't you?" I ask. She turns back to a book.
"I figured I would let you find that one out on your own," she side-eyes me, and I twist my hands together. "He has good intentions, he just, didn't go about things in the best way at first."
