The end of January was approaching slowly but surely which meant only one thing.

The superbowl was coming up.

E'ani was at a game every week, cheering the Eagles through the playoffs, watching Amere do what he did best. After the entire playoff season, the Eagles made it to the superbowl along with the New England Patriots. Yanni couldn't be more proud of Amere and everything he was accomplishing.

Not only because was he going to the superbowl, but because he was making strides within himself faster than she expected. She convinced him to start journaling, just to get some of the thoughts out of his head. When she was going through her breakup with Devin and her therapy after the abuse she endured, journaling helped her a lot.

Of course, Amere made fun of her at first, because he didn't understand, but he actually liked to write down his feelings at the end of the day. She knew he needed some kind of outlet. Beside that, he'd been much more positive lately. He stopped talking down on himself and he was getting the idea that he was hard to love out of his head. She was proud.

She wished she progressed like him. But she tried not to compare, since her situation was very severe, so she knew comparing them would do nothing but discredit the positive steps she made.

Since Amere was preparing for the big game, she saw him only in the evenings these days if she did see him, but he always made sure to check on her throughout the day, and she loved it, she looked forward to it, actually.

"Your boo text you?" Nyx smirked, looking over at Yanni from under Roman's arm. Yanni thought they were the cutest couple, no matter how many times she saw them doing adorable things, she found it cuter than the last.

"No," Yanni chuckled. She learned to stop correcting them when they called him that, because they simply would not. It was no use.

"I can't wait till y'all fall in love and have pretty babies," Nyx sighed, making Yanni erupt into laughter. "It's only a matter of time,"

"You know somebody has to like you back to fall in love with you, right?" she tilted her head, and both Nyx and Roman sucked their teeth at her. "Am I wrong?!"

"Come on, sis. You not that blind," Roman said.

"Blind to what?! We are friends. He treats me like his friend. What am I missing?" she asked obliviously. As much as she preached to Amere about loving himself and knowing that he was lovable, she was pretty much sold on the fact that Amere did not want her, and that she wasn't his type.

"If Nyx had a friend like that, I'd beat his ass," Roman said, straight faced, getting Yanni to laugh again, because he was very serious. Roman was very quiet, but his hands were not. She heard stories about him.

"You'd beat somebody's ass for looking at Nyx wrong," Yanni chuckled.

"I would, but that's not the point," he laughed.
