His name echo's through my ears. The thought of familiarity runs through my mind like water flowing in the sea. Jade approaches the table with a bandage in her hand. My arm that was covered in blood is now as faint as a petty cat. She hands the bandage to Calvin, raising his hand as he accepts it. He wraps it around my once bloody arm that is now as clear as glass.
Once he finishes I glide my arm through the smooth table mat. Gentle enough so the bandage stays in place. "That does it." he says patting my shoulder. Silence passes over the room as I watch his sea blue eyes flicker. His eyelashes colliding as he blinks and separates as he opens it once again. I snap out as Jade decides to speak. "Ma'am". May I please take your order?"
The sound of pleading pitching her voice. I sigh "Blue berry pancakes and chocolate milk shake." I say gliding the menu toward her. "Back in a second." she says smiling. "So, you might want to know what was going on earlier." he says. I nod and reach for the mug filled with coffee. I didn't notice how cold it is until now. My sweater passing the length of my fingers cupping the mug towards my mouth.
"Well, there was this girl." I cough as the words escape his mouth. Putting the mug down as I cover my mouth coughing. He stares at me and obtains silence. "Uh, sorry. Continue" I say once I compose myself. "There were two guys heading up to her. They looked like syndicates." A peculiar looks flashes on my face. "Syndicates? We rarely have those in Armenia. If there even are syndicates I'm pretty sure the government will get hold of them somehow."
"I'm pretty sure they were. And no, the government doesn't always find syndic-" I lean forward across the table to cover my good hand on his mouth. "Shhh. Don't say that word out loud." and I pull my hand back and lean by back on the chair once again. "Its not safe."
"Anyways, they were following her and I had to go stop them. When they were already pushing her, I rushed to go help her. I punched one of them." I hear a gasp escape my mouth. "You what?" I exaggerate. "Its dangerous! You could've died. Those men are illegal. Wait till the dome finds out, you'll be dead in no time."
"Well, that's when the policemen came. The girls top 4 buttons were un-tucked. He probably suspected it was me. So I fled." my jaw drops and my eyes widen.
I continued to glare at him. I notice that his expressions changed when I continued to stare in disbelief. "So, are you gonna speak. Or are you just gonna stare?"
I shook my head and open my mouth. But words can't seem to escape it. Jade slowly approaches the table with our order. She places it down and smiles then turns away again. She stayed behind the counter still looking at Calvin.
"Fi-first of all." I stutter "You are extremely stupid." his eyes widen mockingly. "uh-huh" then he nods. "So, if it was a mistake you could of at least told the police or the legionaries."
"You think they'd believe me?" he laughs "Legionaries never listen to anyone. Except the dome of course." 'I know' was what i wanted to say. I wanted to tell him that I've know that since i was taken to the mazzard. The place where people are checked and tested if they are not from here, or if they are "illegal". He reaches for his plate. 'The Usual' is his term for waffles and eggs and a glass orange juice. Not a usual meal for a muscular man like him. I reach for my plate and take a sip on my milkshake. Jabbing through my pancakes with a knife and a fork. I take in a big serving of pancakes flowing with syrup. Syrup trickles on my chin.
"Not such a neat eater. Are we, Destínee?" he says mockingly. He speaks with aggression. Raising his eyebrow every time I respond quite stupidly. "Shut up." I reply. "Its not my fault. I'm starving." I wipe my mouth clean and snap him a mixture of mock and anger. He reaches his arm out for his pocket to get his phone that's been vibrating loudly for the past 9 seconds.
"Its going great. I've got it."
"Done with"
"Yes, of course."
"Over and done with for now."
"Alright"
I find the conversation odd. But its probably the fact that I can only hear one side of it. I continue to dig in but this time a little more decent. He pats my shoulder and nods. I ignore him turning my head back to the plate. "I gotta go." I shot my head up and throw my knife on the plate. "I would've ate less if you said you really wouldn't pay for me" I reach for my pocket searching for my wallet.
He throws his head back laughing. "Hey Jade!" he shouts while shooting his right hand up. Jade, who seems to be organizing money on the counter heads towards the table, more annoyed than ever. "What's wrong?" she says shooting me an odd look. "Hey, charge it on me. What she's eating, I mean."
She nods to Calvin then to me. "Of course."
She heads back to counter landing on the chair with more force than she's expect. "I didn't ask you t-" he cuts me if as he bounces of his chair. "I'll see you soon, Destínee" when he heads towards the door I say under my breathe. "I hope not." then he's out.

Armenia has never looked stricter than ever. Legionaries walking around holding guns. Men with their heads faced to the ground and lasers struck upon them. One of them kneels forward causing his knees to fall hard on the floor. He screeches and knocks out. As I walk down the street to head into a music store, I caught sight of a few men holding stretchers with what seems to be like bodies. The other one already wrapped inside a big cloth. The other 2 who seem familiar big black curls, long arms and a black shirt covered with blood.
My first thought is that it was a stranger, then a few other images came to mind. The black shirt with the words "I want 2 be free" printed on it. Phoebe.
