I walk down the sidewalk brushing away the tears before they stream down my face looking down at the locket Phoebe gave me when I was 12. It was a photo of us together at my birthday party. The party where only two of us celebrated when everyone else left. I jam the lock and close it. I swerve to my right into the alley and suddenly feel a burst of shock as a large impact knocked me over. As soon as I regained consciousness I tried to drag myself up and print to my mind determined I was going to have an outburst on whoever pushed her over.

As soon as I got to me feet I felt a shock of pain running through my spine. I turned to face the man who pushed me. "What was th-" before I could even finish he reached out to cover my mouth and pulled me back where the shadows covered us both. I was about the scream until he leaned down and whispered in my ears "Please-" he said pleading. "Be quiet" I immediately obeyed him as I hear footsteps getting louder. A policeman appeared. He was covered in sweat and he stopped to catch his breathe. The slowly he continued running just stopped for a second to call his companions.

When their footsteps fade I calmed down. It took a few seconds to recover my breathe. Then suddenly I bit his hand and he winced in pain. I stared at him with a disorienting face. "Wha-" he continued to wince and I saw how badly I bit him when blood streamed down his hand. He reached out for his pocket and pulled out a handkerchief and gently rapped it around his hand. He tightened it using his teeth and pulled it so it would tie into a knot.

"why'd you?" before her could finish I stepped on his shoe.

He winced in pain but recovered sooner than I expected.

"Okay. Enough. You don't know what I'm capable of so might as well back off"

I watched his sea green eyes look at me fiercely. I arrogantly repeated what he said in a slightly lighter octave.

"Enough." he said and started to walk away. I wouldn't care if he actually said thank you. But there was no sign of gratitude so I reached out for his hand the way Phoebe reached out for mine.

He stopped and faced me. "What?" he asked. I shrug and gently pull him in the dark. "No thank you? Nothing?" I ask him. I exhales heavily and flips his blonde hair to the right perfectly placed. "Thank you." I nod and walk towards the sun. I was stopped by his call. "Where you heading?" he asked. I turn back and I was about to reply when It came to me that I didn't know where I was going. I let out a sigh. "Far away from here I guess"

He nodded and walked out of the dark. I noticed how the light reflects on his brown hair with kisses of the sun. "Bye, then." he says. I just shook my head and walk out of the alley. I noticed as I took a step forward he was still there whistling. Approximately 2 meters behind me. I continued to walk and he continued to follow. Just as I can't get enough of his whistling. I face him.

"What is your problem?" I ask. "Why are you following me?"

He looks surprised and opens his mouth to answer. "I am not following you." he says. I don't seem convinced. I continue to watch him shooting my right eyebrow up. "What are you doing then?" I as in suspicion. I watch his head cock to the side he let's out a grunt. "Well, I'm in my way to the diner, thank you very much." a mix of irritation and calmness in his voice.

I inhale much air as possible and reply. "I was on my way there as well."

"Well, I think we should go together." he suggests

"No way, I'm not sharing a table with someone who's being chased by the police." I tell him. "Oh come on." he says grinning then slowly approaches the wooden box beside me and sit on it. "I wasn't really doing anything."

"Oh so that's why you decided to cover my mouth and pull me in the shadows." I respond. "Brilliant move." the sound of sarcasm reflecting my phase. "Let me explain it to you." before he continues he steps on the pole and jumps down making the metallic sound echo. "You know what. Let me buy you food. I could at least make it up to you?"

No. I shouldn't. I wouldn't be so stupid to come with a stranger who was being chased by the police. He's probably a criminal. No. No.

"Lead the way"

He smiles lightly and offers his hand. I take it gently.

"So, here we are" he reaches for a chair and gets in it. He raises his arm to take an order, winking at the waitress as she approaches the table.

"What would you like sir?" she says wearing such a charming smile. A blue apron tugging her waist to show her curves. Her eyelashes flaunting in mid air.

"I'll take the usual." showing off a grin and winking at her again.

"And you m'aam?" "I'm not hungry." I tell her. A crowd of disappointment clouds her face. "You've got to eat, you know that?" he says taking my menu. I flinch when the metal edge of the menu scratches through my arm which causes blood to drip.

"Oh, shi--" without finishing his words he grabs for a napkin on his right hand and a glass of water in another. "Come on, give me your arm." he says moving to the chair beside me. I hesitate for a second and gently hand it to him making the blood drip on my pants.

Thankfully I wore black jeans today. He dips the napkin in the water and squeezes it to remove excess water. He slowly runs the piece of cloth on my skin. I exhale heavily. A normal girl would normally hate the sight of blood. But I don't find it disturbing. Since its mine anyways.

I look up at the waitress then back at him. His face serious, locks of his blonde gold hair covering the sight of his eyes. "Jade, get a bandage." he commands as the waitress, Jade, walks back behind the counter.

"Look its alright. I don't need a bandage." pulling my arm slowly, he grips it lightly and pulls it back to him like a little boy reaching for his lollipop. "No" he snaps. "Its looks pretty bad. Did I hurt you?" I would usually reply sarcastically with a 'thanks for stating the obvious stupid' but the words didn't seem to come. Plus he looks pretty sincere.

"Does it hurt?" he says. "Hey, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to-" I cut him off. "Its okay. You didn't mean to, I get it. No big deal."

A thought in the back of my mind makes me think he'll smile, but I'm probably wrong seeing the sight of him wishing to continue.

"I'm Calvin Chapsler by the way." He says reaching out his right hand. "Destínee." I say.

"Destínee Damon." he grins.
