Out of the ashes arose a hero:
This hero wasn't big and strong like most,
Wasn't prideful or fearless,
And wasn't a man
It was a woman;
She wasn't captivating, or a timeless beauty,
She was simply, herself,
She wasn't considered a hero because of the people she saved,
but because of the people she inspired.
She was a hero because of all the hardships she had overcome,
for me and herself
She was someone I looked up to
She is someone I'll look up to
Out of the ashes arose a hero
Her ashes were scattered across the lake
And I cried as she sailed away into the green abyss
Goodbye, my hero
