Chapter 35: Don't Give Up!

While sitting on your bed trying to figure out a way to feed Bakugou and Todoroki, you begin to feel dizzy. 

You decide to lay down, hoping that it would help get rid of the dizziness. As soon as you lay down, however, everything goes black.

*Izuku Midoriya's P.O.V*

You look around the pitch-black space. You had been trapped inside your mind since "that" day at the training camp. The blue flames still haunted you to this day. The sight of the villain called Toga skipping up to you, holding a needle. Watching her stick it in your arm, while the blood-red liquid was pushed out of the needle. 

You were rescued soon after they finished, though. But, you could tell that whatever reason they had for coming there, it involved you. No one was kidnapped, no casualties, the only thing they did do was injure your friends and some pro-heroes. 

After those horrible events, you had been put into quarantine in the hospital for a month, while they tried to figure out what they did to you, but they couldn't find anything. Once you went back, everything was normal. For a little while. 

Then, maybe a day after you had saved a girl named Eri, everything changed! If you hadn't taken that morning walk, you wouldn't have been ambushed, meaning you wouldn't be where you are now. 

Trapped inside your mind, while a creature referring to themself as the villain side of you controls your body. Hurting the people you care about, except for your mother. The creature did seem to care about her at least. Unless it is faking that in hopes of winning your trust.

When you do manage to escape the empty room, you are met with a sickening view. You could always tell, that while you could see a creature covered head-to-toe in some kind of black liquid, that resembled slime dripping off of it, it looked almost exactly like you in the eyes of every living thing that laid eyes on it.

You hadn't fought with all your will power to escape before, but, since the day they entered U.A, you fought as hard as you could. You knew that no good was going to come from it pretending to be you while in the U.A campus.

However, you were too weak to escape. Every single minute you spent in that empty room, you felt weaker and weaker. It was as if the creature was slowly killing you, savoring every single moment.

But, one day changed that all. The day the creature took two of your friends, Todoroki and Kacchan. Once you found out what the creature had done, a new feeling had come to the surface. You had never experienced the feeling before, but you felt a need to protect them, more then you had ever felt before. 

The feeling had given you the strength to fight the creature. So much strength that one day, you had managed to escape, but it was all in vain. You still weren't strong enough to break free...

You might as well give up. Even when you try your hardest, you still aren't good enough...

"It is sad to see that you have that form of mentality kid."

You spin around quickly to face the unknown person. As soon as you turn around, you are met with a surprise.

"Hehe! Surprised to see me kid?"

"Nana Shimura? A-All Might's mentor?!"

"I prefer to be called Nana, but yeah. That's me."

"Why are you here?"

"I am here because of you. I came to help you."

"Well, you should go back. It is useless. I am too weak to fight this monster."

You turn back around and sit down. After a minute, you hear Nana walk beside you and sit down next to you. You look at her and see her looking up at something. You decide to look at what she is looking at and see pitch-black. 

"You know, I told Toshinori something after he felt the exact same way you do after he failed to save someone. I told him, that, when you save someone, they are usually in a scary situation. A true hero not only saves their lives, but also their hearts. But, sometimes, even the heroes can't save someone, because they are humans. Just like police, firefighters, paramedics, they are humans. They get scared. But, no matter how scary things get, give 'em a smile, as if to say, "I'm a-ok". The people in this world who can smile are always the strongest. So no matter how scary or dangerous things get, keep a smile on your face."

"Heh."

"I also know he told you those exact words. But, I don't see you smiling."

"Yeah, well, I'm still not strong enough to fight it. No matter if I am smiling or not."

"Yes you are. That is the reason why Toshinori chose you."

"Well, he made a mistake. Heck! I had to rely on people to help me before I lost control of my body. I'm nothing without people at my side to help me."

"Just because you need people to help you sometimes doesn't make you weak! It makes you human. Look at Toshinori. He still relies on people to help him to this day. Whether he was the pro-hero or Toshinori, the civilian, he still counted on people to help him."

"Yeah, but he is strong! He doesn't need people backing him up..."

"Is that really what you think?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"The day All Might got that wound on his side, he had originally become very, very weak due to the amount of blood he lost. He thought the exact things you thought. But, then he realized, it is ok to have people help you, and that he has people relying on him to help them too."

"Oh.. Wow."

"Hah. You are just like him."

You stand up and look at Nana. 

"Then I won't give up either!"

She shoots up, appearing to be faster than a bullet.

"Yeah! But, don't forget. You have people backing you up,"

Before Nana finishes, all the previous holders for One for All appear, alongside all the heroes you had met in your life so far.

"And people who rely on and care for you."

So many more people appear, including your mother, Todoroki, Bakugou, Uraraka, and Iida. 

"So..."

"Don't Give Up!"

Whoo! This chapter had some heavy feelings in it for me! Also, I just realized while proof-reading this chapter, that somehow, every big chapter with a title, always has a 5 in it! U.S.J is chapter 15 and this chapter is chapter 35! I was not even intending on this, but it just happened! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
