Bill smiled as they strode into the lobby. Jess almost imperceptibly pressed herself closer to his side. It drove home the fact that this wasn't yet her world, but it also showed him that she trusted him enough to follow him into situations she was unfamiliar with.
"I've just got to go talk to the front desk." He explained, realizing that at the very least he needed to get a new room key.
"Huh?" She asked while looking at the chandelier hanging above their heads. "How heavy do you think that thing is?"
"Jess," Bill laughed, drawing her attention to him. She smiled, and he felt his heart flutter as she said, "Oh, right. Front desk. You go. I'll be waiting over by that massive potted plant."
Smirking, he left her by said plant and strode over to the concierge.
"Mr. Wilson," The woman manning the concierge desk gave him a charming smile, "Lovely to see you this evening. Your PA has been quite concerned about your disappearance."
Bill smiled, adjusting Jess's backpack on his shoulder as he replied, "Yeah. Went out to meet an old friend and left my-"
"Your wallet and phone in the car." She finished for him with a smirk, "The driver brought the items back to the hotel when he realized. Security has it. If you'll wait a minute, I'll have them bring it down for you."
Bill cast a glance in Jessica's direction to find her inspecting the soil of the giant fern that was growing next to a sitting area. He continued trying to figure out what she was doing as he addressed the concierge, "That's fine. Just have them give it to Chuck. I need a new room key, though."
"Certainly," She smiled, surreptitiously eyeing him as she fed the card key through the machine that would connect it to his suite.
"You know, I saw your speech." She said casually, casting a glance at him from under her long lashes, "You're an excellent speaker."
"Thank you." He said genuinely while ignoring the intense way she was looking at him. Smiling faintly, he checked on Jess once more to see her looking straight up at the ceiling to admire the chandelier again and garnering curious looks from passers by.
"You know, I get off work in an hour..."
The concierge's words drew him to look once more at her. "Pardon?"
"Work," She bit her bottom lip, "I get off in an hour. If you'd like to grab drinks."
He smiled amicably while taking the card she held out to him. "Thank you for the offer. If I wasn't already taken, I would certainly take you up on that, but..."
The woman blushed and shook her head. "My apologies, Mr. Wilson. Do you need anything else from me?"
He smiled gently at her. "No thank you. Have a good evening."
"You too. If you need anything, just let us know."
He nodded, offering her a slight wave as he trotted back to Jess, who was now rubbing her neck. "Come on, Jessie. I got the key."
She smiled brilliantly as she slipped her hand into his and let him lead her to the elevators.
The entire elevator ride up to his room, though, Jess fidgeted but didn't let go of his hand, leading him to ask. "Jess are you sure-?"
She rolled her eyes and silenced him with a brief kiss. He was so surprised by the quick press of her lips against his that, when the elevator doors opened onto his floor, it was Jess tugging him out and into the hallway. "Lead the way, Mr. Wilson."
He chuckled, recovering from his surprise and taking over, leading her to the suite and tapping the card key against the reader. When the door unlocked, he opened it and held it open for Jess to enter ahead of him. From inside, he heard her surprised whistle as he stepped in behind her and shut the door before flicking on the lights.
"Whoa," she said, taking in the admittedly opulent space with awe, "How many people are staying in this suite?"
"Just me." He grinned, setting her bag next to the card key on the table by the entryway.
Her shoes were already off as she began wandering through the space, and he smiled when he heard her exclaim. "There's more than one bedroom! This is a fucking apartment, Billy."
He walked over to the bar and poured himself a glass of soda. "Can I get you anything to drink, Jess?"
"This tub is huge!" She exclaimed, completely ignoring his question.
He snorted, taking a swig of soda and listening to her exclamations of wonder. Soon, there was a knock at his door, which caused him to place his drink on the bar. Frowning, Bill walked over to the entry and looked out the peephole to see Chuck standing there, holding his phone and wallet and looking decidedly displeased. Sighing, Bill unlocked the door and opened it.
"Where have you been?"
"With Jess," Bill explained, grabbing his wallet and phone from the man and attempting to shut the door.
Chuck raised a curious brow when he looked over Bill's shoulder to see Jess' shoes dumped unceremoniously in the entry. "Did she-?"
Bill cut him off with a scowl before saying, "Bye, Chuck. Go party or something. I'm going to stay in and be a good boy, I promise. Sorry for worrying you."
Chuck opened his mouth as if to say more, but Bill shut the door in his face before turning around to find Jess, striding back into the main sitting area and wearing a hotel robe over her sundress.
"Who was that?" She asked curiously.
Bill shrugged. "My handler. I chased him away. I see you stole my robe."
She laughed, tucking her hair behind her ears like she always did when she was nervous about something. "I didn't steal it, there were, like, six of them in your closet."
Grinning, Bill walked over to Jess while saying, "Typically, you don't wear anything under a robe."
Following his words, she cocked her head to the side adorably, and he saw the lust already written all over her features. "Wouldn't you like that, Billy. Easier access?"
"Obviously your being naked under the robe would give me easier access, Jessie." He said, having reached her side.
She looked at him searchingly, but he didn't touch her even though he ached to. He wanted to wait for her to make whatever move she wanted to make. Bill was always leery of unintentionally pressuring her into things considering the string of horrible relationships he'd seen her go through when they were still just best friends. After a moment, she relaxed and took his hands then placed his arms around her waist before resting her head on his shoulder.
"I missed you." She said, her words causing him to squeeze her tight as she melted into him.
"I missed you too, Jess." He replied, kissing the top of her head and bringing her attention to his face.
Before he could say anything else, she was kissing him with a hungry intensity that had him groaning softly against her mouth. Gingerly, he slid his hands up her body to cup her face as they tasted one another. She, too, began reacting to what they were doing, and with infinite slowness, she slid her hands under the hem of his shirt so that she could caress his toned stomach before she broke for air.
Panting, she pulled off her robe and tossed it to the floor, making him laugh despite his own painful arousal at the situation. "I thought you wanted the robe."
She began peppering his face with kisses then working her way down his neck before responding. "I was hot. You're hot, too."
Without another word, she tugged off his shirt and tossed it next to the robe, and he chuckled, cupping her ass and lifting her before guiding her legs around his waist. She giggled softly, kissing his exposed collarbone and running her hands over his body as he carried them both to his bed.
