"He, what?" Chandice said. Zuri was checking up on her brother who was now awake and looking at television. Surprisingly his favorite childhood cartoon was on, blues clues.
"He had an Partial-onset seizure. It's caused by a problem in the electrical signaling of the brain. Groups of neurons suddenly begin firing excessively, leading to involuntary responses, including strange sensations, emotions, behaviors or convulsions, muscle spasms, and possibly loss of consciousness. Not everyone will experience all symptoms of partial onset seizures. The following symptoms you say he had were fear/anxiety, loss of consciousness, and possible hallucinations or illusions. Did you say y'all think he saw something, when he went to go take the trash?" Chandice and Paul both nodded. "We'll keep him over night just to keep a check on him. It seems he his head pretty heard when he fell which is apart of what may have caused his seizure."
"Okay, well um, is visiting hours over?" The doctor smiled.
"You still have thirty minutes left. But I'll let my staff know that you all have an extra ten minutes." He said.
"Thank you so much." Chandice and Paul shook the doctors hand and headed back in their son's room.
"Hi baby boy, how you feeling?" Chandice asked with her arms folded. She then extended an arm to rub his head.
"I'm fine. What did the doctor say?" Ar'mon questioner reverting his eyes from the tv to his parents.
"They're going to keep you over night, to keep a check on you. We'll be back in the morning to check up on you." Paul assured him. From the look on Chandice's face he could tell she was worried.
What in heavens name did Ar'mon see for him to pass out like that? In the car on the way to the hospital Ar'mon was saying all types of things.
-In the Car-
"Is he okay?" Chandice asked, looking back from the front seat of the car.
"Mom he's kind of scary me." Zuri admitted as she held Ar'mon's bleeding head. She used a damp bath rag for pressure.
"What do you mean, Zuri?" Chandice asked with a worried voice.
"He keeps saying something about a man with no eyes, man with no eyes." Zuri replied dabbing Ar'mon's face with the towel.
"What? There was no one out there. I told him about smoking that shit." Paul said speeding through a red light.
"Dad, Ar'mon hasn't smoked that in months." Zuri mentioned, rolling her eyes. Paul sighed shaking his beady head. Ar'mon was good for being a follower instead of a leader. He loved to be apart of the crowed. Smoking, with that being his favorite thing to do. After his girlfriend threatened to leave him he quit the smokes immediately.
"Yeah right." Paul mumbled as he sped into the hospital parking lot. He sped to the front entrance killing the engine and popping the locks.
Chandice looked over at her oldest child with so much worry. "Baby, he'll be fine." Paul reassured his wife as he rubbed her exposed back. She didn't really have time to change at the time of the accident so she just threw on anything that was already laid on the bed.
"I know, it's just- I don't know." She held her head in her hands as her head moved in a swift motion. If Paul didn't take the rest of his family home so they could get some sleep Chandice would be a hot mess.
"It's okay mom. Dad, we should go." Paul agreed. "Love you big bro, get some rest." Ar'mon folded his lips into a thin line with a head nod. She gave him a kiss on the forehead followed by a fist pound.
