Everything felt normal, and as average as it can be. I lived in the mediocre two-story house. I had parents who were the normal stereotype of parents. I had friends who were mildly popular, just like myself. I have the average light brown hair and brown eyes. Nothing in my life was too weird-- or too boring. I would say its... well, normal. And I had gotten used to it. That is, until I exploded overnight. I didn't even think it was possible...

My phone kept buzzing with texts as I reached over the counter to grab my Starbucks drink. It was a sunny afternoon and I was just trying to enjoy a coffee outside... But that's clearly impossible with all the fans lining up to see me. For gosh sake, I didn't even plan for this. They all shouted, "Jasmine! Jasmine! Take a picture with me!" Or just bluntly screamed as they saw me. More and more fans kept arriving, and not long after, the whole cafe was jam-packed with people.  Baristas kept yelling at them to get out. Security guards were coming in to escort everybody. Heck, I can't even leave the house without hiring a bodyguard... Speaking of that, I should consider it.

So many things were happening at once. My phone buzzed every second, fans kept touching me as I passed by, and there was yelling in my ear. Oh, the yelling... that's probably the worst part since I'm sensitive to sounds. My heart was beating fast in my chest and a tiny bit of sweat dripped down my body because of how much  was happening around me. And as you can see, I am not used to this. Some people even tried to grab my coffee. But when I left out the door, no one would stop following me. A few fans even tried to climb into my car while some snapped a pic of my license plate. Although luckily, my guard dogs that were in there barked and growled to shoo everybody away. I had to honk a couple times to alert everyone that I was pulling out of the parking lot, if that wasn't clear enough. A few minutes later I drove off. Recalling what had happened, that was the worst 15 minutes I experienced in my life.

As I pulled into my driveway, I stopped to think. I thought of how blessed I am to experience what happened even though I was genuinely exhausted by it. Heck, people would do anything for 15 minutes of fame... But here I am taking it all in like it will be forever mine... I pondered about how I now live in a very nice house, with a nice pool and yard. I thought of how I used to live in a small suburban area outside California. But within a year, I moved to Los Angeles and currently reside in a big modern mansion in an upscale neighborhood. I thought of how I send a big paycheck to my family each month when they need help. I thought of how many opportunities my fame led me to get this wealthy. I thought about how my old friends whom I believed were going to be there, betrayed me and used me for my money. I thought of my new friends that are loyal to me, whom have as much to lose as I do. All of this, while I should be in college and enjoying my life freely at the age of 20. I thought about how people have changed and how I myself have as well.

After pondering for awhile, my dogs and I went into the house. I quickly checked the messages, curious to what they're about the whole time. I notice I'm in a group chat with 19 other people. "What the hell?" Came out of my mouth. The messages read something about a collab house for some TikTokers... 2 users named "Daisy Keech" and "Thomas Petrou" initiated this whole thing. The chat also included some of my friends who were Charli, Addison, and Avani. Other than that, it had different users who I've only heard of or DMed to once in a while. This whole time people were chatting on there and getting to know each other online. My friends even texted me to see if I was going to join or not... But looking at the messages, I felt skeptical at first. But I was still interested in trying this thing out. So I texted everyone this:

@JasmineWilkson Hey

@Petroutv Hey Jasmine, you're invited to join a collab house we are hosting, as you can see from previous messages.

I know, I should've texted more than the word "hey", but I really didn't know what to think of it.

@JasmineWilkson oh, could you send me all the details too?

@Petroutv sure, I just did.

I wondered if this was a scam of some sort. The Thomas Petrou guy told us all to message him if we are interested, and he would send the info to people who were. So that's just what I did. And just then, I got a DM from him. I opened it up and it said, "Hey thanks for considering joining this collab house! We will meet on Saturday, November 30 at 2 pm." That's a week from now.

So I had nothing better to do but text my friends and the people from the group chat, and we all got to know each other a bit... I figured out how Chase wanted to be a rollercoaster designer as a kid, how Alex wanted to have teleportation as a superpower, and so on. We all exchanged friendly conversation during the 30 minutes. Some of the people in the chat are quite popular, but by talking one-on-one with them, I noticed they could be total goofballs.

Author's Note

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for checking out the first chapter of my story. It really means a lot to me, and you don't even know how much. I stayed up past 3 AM, three days in a row just figuring what I would write about! It was exhausting but worth it. This really payed off. By the way, the name "Jasmine Wilkson" just popped into my head, and I'm not sure if that's a real person. Also the facts about Chase and Alex were true. I watched their Famous Birthdays videos on YouTube! But anyways, tell me what all of you think down in the comments!

p.s. there will be a love story coming up in here, but stayed tuned! ;)
