A Thanksgiving Surprise

"BOO!" shouted Addison, Charli, and Avani. "You scared the sh** outta me!" I yelled. They both laugh. "So this is the idea of your Thanksgiving surprise?" My friends planned to meet me here before I drove to my parents' house that evening. Both my mom and my dad wanted me to spend Thanksgiving dinner with them.

"Well, partly, but we have a gift for you!" Addison exclaimed.

Avani gave it to me. The small box was covered in red wrapping paper and decorated with a gold bow. I carefully ripped off the paper to find a silver Tiffany's necklace with an infinity charm. "Aw, you guys shouldn't have!"

"We love you, and this is a reminder that we are super thankful to have you as a best friend. We will always be there for you, as you are for us whenever we have our temper tantrums!", Charli laughed. Well I don't blame them, being famous is hard sometimes. But I felt kind of bad for not buying any of them a present.
We all embrace each other with a hug and hung around the swings afterwards. Addison clasped my necklace on for me and it sat there, gracefully, but matched my grunge egirl outfit. If you were wondering, I did just film quick tiktoks before I got to the park.

"So, uh... I was wondering if any of you were gonna join the collab house thing.", asked Addison.

"Yeah, I'm probably going to do it. It seems like a cool idea. But I wouldn't know what to do about the house I'm living in right now. I guess I could just stay there half the time?  And plus, would everyone be okay if I brought my two giant Caucasian Shepherds there?... Those are known as the "wolf killers", you know.", I answered and they all laughed.

"I'm definitely doing it. But at the same time, I definitely won't if you guys aren't. It would be awkward not knowing anyone there personally.", said Charli.

"I'm only gonna join the house if I know it's actually legit.", Avani bluntly said.

"So... we'll find out in four days.", Addison told us.

"I guess so."

We all messed around the park for a few hours until it was dark. I told my friends goodbye, that I had to leave as each one of them hugged me.

"We're gonna miss you for four days!", shouted Charli.

"I'll miss all of you too!", I yelled  to them as I went into the driver's seat of my Lambo. I have a few days to think about the collab idea.

(AUTHORS NOTE: p.s. listen to the song linked above^^ while reading the two paragraphs below!)

As I was driving, I thought about how other people and fans can't see me through my car windows. That meant I could blast any song on the radio I wanted, even my guilty pleasures. A few hours passed and my car was the only one on the road. The long, endless dark road ahead of me. Basically nothing could be seen a mile away without any headlights. But to me, it felt quite calm... And even peaceful. I smiled, knowing that nothing could take away my moment of calmness and privacy now. The energetic rap songs on the radio were changed to some of Khalid's music. If I rolled down the windows I could hear the wind buzzing in my ear. I could see the small houses across the street. Oh, how peaceful that must be to live in one of those... With the field in your backyard, with lots of space to keep to yourself, with no commotion or chatter nearby... And the fact hat you could live pleasantly with tranquility makes my heart yearn for only that in this moment.

I stopped on the side of the road to let my dogs go potty. After both of them were done, I just held their leashes there, looking up at the sky and around the field. It felt like a magical moment, this one. Everything around me was quiet except for the crickets. I wonder what it would feel like to just replace all of your fame to live in this beautiful scenery. My dogs glanced up at the stars, looking like they wanted to ask what the universe has in store for them later on. This was one of the best moments I've experienced in my entire life.
