Catching up

Hearing the commotion from the foyer mom came out and saw us laughing and Zoe standing there looking confused.

"What's going on? Are you both making fun of Zoe?" Mom asked giving me and Landon a dissaproving look.

"I'm innocent Aunt Rosa. I don't even know why Lilly is laughing" Landon accused me raising his hands up acting innocent.

"And you just started to laugh along without knowing why she is laughing in the first place?" Mom Inquired.

"Urm.. Well.. Its hard to resist when Lily is laughing like that".

Mom rolled her eyes and went to greet Zoe properly. She gave a warm hug to her and whispered "Don't mind them Zoe. They act like kids sometimes."

Zoe was always comfortable around my mom and she visibly relaxed when she said that and smiled hugging my mom back.

"I'm sorry Zoe! But you must admit that It was funny." I said after controlling my laughter.

Zoe just shrugged and smiled. She went inside the living room with mom guiding her forward. Landon and I followed behind. I hope I didn't upset her. It just funny to think Landon as Gay.

After sitting on the couch comfortably Landon once again asked "What was it so funny? I want to laugh knowing what I am laughing about this time"

"I don't think you will be laughing if I tell you the reason"

"What do you mean?" Landon furrowed his eye brows. Confusion was written all over his face. So I added.

"I don't think Zoe wants me to tell you, right Zoe?" I asked Zoe finding it funny how she still haven't figured out that Landon is straight as they can get.

"Yeah I guess" Zoe shrugged.

"Sorry Lan I can't tell you" I shrugged and faced mom and Zoe sitting together. Mom was gushing about how beautiful Zoe looks.

"You look so gorgeous Zoe. You have grown up to be a beautiful young lady."

"Thank you Rose!" Zoe gave her a shy smile.

"Do you have a boyfriend now?" Mom asked.

At this question Zoe's eyes widen and her face heated up. She tried to hide her face with her long brown hair.

She didn't notice Landon looking up from his phone when mom asked this question. But I did. He was looking thoughtfully at her waiting for her answer and he smiled when she blushed and tried to hide her face with her hair.

It was very unusual for Landon to get interested in any girls relationship status. He goes for the girl who gets his attention and do her. Of cause with their permission. This is new. I mused.

"Not anymore" Zoe answered with a sad smile. She tried to look positive but I can say that this breakup took a toll on her.

"Oh that's not a problem. We will find you a handsome young man who will fall helplessly in love with you. " mom clapped her hands together with a dreamy look on her face. I bet She is already thinking about all the handsome young men she knows who will be perfect fit for Zoe. I gotta save her from her match making skills. Zoe is too sweet to say no to her.

"Oh no.. No no no mom. Don't even think about it. You are not going to put your match making skills and find a man for Zoe." I said shaking my head from side to side.

Mom pouted almost seein her match making bubbles burst.

"Zoe come let me show you to your room. I bet she is tired and want to rest right Zoe" I said giving Zoe the play along look and catching up she stood up from the couch and did a stretch and forced out a yawn and said yes. God she is a horrible actress.
