I woke up earlier than usual. The sunrise was just peeking through my curtains. I knew If I wanted to I could probably sleep for another hour or so. But once I was awake I never could fall back asleep. Yawning I stretched out my arms and pushed off the silky f/c sheets that were covering me.
I usually dressed myself in the morning. While our maid Mey-Rin did offer to dress me, I would always decline her offers. Truth be told, I never felt completely comfortable having others dress me. Even when I was a child and mother tried to dress me in dresses and what not, I would always try to do it myself. I failed when I was younger, but now I was capable of doing things on my own.
I got out of bed and walked over to my closet, taking out the things I had planned on wearing. It was my usual attire. I have grown to hate wearing dresses. They never gave me the freedom I so desired. Around the age of 13, I began wearing pants instead of annoying skirts, and boots instead of pesky heels. Once I was dressed In (Image Above) I let down my bluish-black hair that I tied in a messy bun the night before.
I was going to start applying light makeup when I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." I said, clearing my throat to get rid of my raspy morning voice. The door opened and reveled my aunt. Madam Red. My eyes widened and my mouth hung open slightly.
"What are you doing here Auntie? I thought you weren't supposed to be here for at least another day." I say slightly confused. "Yes, but I just missed you and Ciel so much I just couldn't help but come early." She came up to me and gave me a hug. I smiled slightly. We didn't have a close relationship but it was nice to see her. "Why don't you finish getting ready for the day y/n, I'll be down stairs waiting." she kissed my forehead.
I nodded and smiled as she walked out of my room closing the door behind her. I sighed letting my smile fade, I wanted a quiet and calm day today. But knowing my aunt, that wasn't going to happen. I decided to just powder my face and put on a dark red lipstick, not really feeling like putting on a lot of makeup.
I glanced at myself in my mirror and let a small smile appear on my face. I opened my door stepping out of my room. I began making my way down the stairs when I heard a loud crash. It didn't worry me much, seeing how I was used to Mey-Rin tripping over everything and falling. Sighing I made my way down the stairs I yawned once more before entering the room that Ciels voice was coming from.
I was expecting to only see our staff, Madam Red, and Ciel, but when I stepped inside I saw three extra guest's. My eyes glanced over at Lau and Ran-Mao sitting together on the couch. I assumed Ciel needed help with one of the cases the queen had given to him, so he invited the two over. But the third person was someone I'd never seen before.
As I walked inside Sebastian greeted me with a smile. "Good morning lady y/n, Please have a seat, I have your morning tea prepared for you." I took a seat in a chair next to Ciels and thanked Sebastian as he handed me a cup of tea.
"Grell." Madam Red spoke. The mysterious person I had been wondering about looked alerted as she looked at Madam Red. "Learn something from Sebastian." She told what I now assumed was her butler. Grell looked down sadly and muttered a yes. I sighed, feeling bad for the poor thing. I can't hardly handle Madam Red for more than a week, To work for her must be a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing her...sometimes...she is just a lot to handle.
I spaced out a bit getting lost in my own daydreams about how horrible it must be to have to work for her when the next thing I know, Madam Red is touching Sebastian's backside. I lightly choked on the tea I was drinking while everyone else looked a bit startled. Ciel cleared his throat and looked to our aunt, "Madam Red." He said calmly.
She stopped and blushed slightly. "Oh sorry, I couldn't help it. He looked like he needed a physical. Just a doctors habit." She said rubbing the back of her head. The conversation moved on as Lau spoke about a drug trafficker Ciel was hunting. I looked over to Grell and gave her a smile, I didn't want her to be so tense and scared here. I wanted her to feel safe and relaxed. Grell looked a bit shocked that I acknowledged her, but gave a small smile back.
I spaced out, once again getting lost in my own thoughts. Madam Red and Lau were bickering about something. From the corner of my eye I saw Ciel leaving. I stood up as well and without another word left the room to go out in our garden for fresh air.
Once I got outside, I took a deep breath and looked down at the flowers in the garden. My eyes met with the red roses and I smiled lightly at how healthy they looked. Finny does an amazing job tending to the garden, I thought. He Is a Phantomhive servant after all. I heard noise behind me so I quickly spun on my heel, almost as if it was an instinct. I saw Grell standing there shyly, hands held together in front of her.
"Everything alright Grell?" I asked with a smile, letting out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. Grell nodded as she looked up to me. "Yes, I just wanted to make sure you were alright." I blushed slightly and chuckled a bit. "I'm fine, I just needed some fresh air. The garden is beautiful isn't it?" I looked down once again at the flowers taking in the smell and beauty.
"Yes miss Phantomhive, they are extraordinarily beautiful. Especially the red roses." I saw Grell looking fondly of the red roses so I lightly plucked one. Grell looked up at me a bit surprised as I moved closer to them. I softly placed the red rose behind Grell's ear and smiled. "It looks better on you though. And please, call me y/n."
