sasha made it back to her apartment that night and studied her ass off until she was tired enough for bed which was her usual routine. she had one class the next day at ten in the morning. which meant waking up at seven to make sure she had everything prepared. she had a free ride to this school, but she was going to work to make sure she didn't lose it.

her class was economics 101 which went well for her because that was one of her best classes besides astrology. once that class was over she headed back to her room to get changed. she now wore a pair of ripped jeans and a black, long sleeved crop top paired with black and white checkered vans.

she headed to a diner she ate at everyday. of course she had a book with her. sasha ordered her usual cheese burger and fries with a small vanilla milkshake. she ate in piece as she read a new book called '1984'. to her, that book was a classic, reading it never grew old because if you gave it enough time, it was like reading for the first time. she munched on a fry when the bell of the made a chime. sasha didn't even look up.

seth had entered with his group of friends which entailed; roman reigns, dean ambrose, charlotte flair, renee young and randy orton. they were people he had known since freshman year and he trusted them with his life. they weren't your typically douchey jocks and cheerleaders, they wanted all that nonsense left in high school. this was college, a place for error and no one to judge it.

"so, i forgot my book at gina's house and i don't know how i am gonna get it back." dean explains as roman looks at him.

"who the hell is gina?"

"the girl from last night. i told you we should've dropped our bags off first."

seth wasn't even listening once he spotted her sitting in the corner all alone engaged in a book. she had a slight smile on her face and he knew which part of the book she was at. seth was in school for football, but if he wasn't he would totally be a journalism major because reading was everything he loved and more.

"i will be right back, guys." he said as he made his way over to her. she finally looked up once she heard his voice. "hello, my friend."

"not your friend, seth." she rolled her eyes as she drank from her her straw. he laid back onto the booth with both arms spread out. she couldn't help but look at how different he looked today. his hair was pulled into a low bun. he wore a tight white shirt, black jeans and a green and yellow letter jacket that proved he was a jock.

"so, how's the book?"

"amazing as always."

"yes, 1984 is definitely a classic for me. i have read it about five times since i purchased it last month."

"cool."

"why can't we just have a normal conversation? like two friends?" he said as he took a bite of her burger. he waited for her reaction. most girls would scream in disgust or demand a new one, but she just rolled her eyes.

"seth, we are not friends."

"oh c'mon, why not?"

"let me tell you a little secret." she said with a fake smile. she leaned in closer to him. "friends are for people who have things in common. i have nothing in common with anyone."

"we have harry potter in common."

"that was a fluke."

"we both like to read."

"we are both in college, it would be weird if we both didn't read."

"you're going to be my friend one day, miss banks." he said with a smirk as he slid out of her booth. "mark my words." he winked as he walked back over to his friends.

"who's that?"

"my friend." he smiled as he watched her eat her burger and read more of her book. he couldn't help, but think she was attractive. she didn't care and that was rare. sure, girls like to claim they didn't care and they did, but she's truthful and honest. to seth, honesty was the most important thing in live because that also secured loyalty.

"a freshman?" randy asked as he sipped his root beer float.

"yeah, she's not from around here though."

"we can tell, she's got a beautiful tan, she's gorgeous. i mean, we're pretty too, but nothing compared to her." charlotte said as she looked over at sasha.

"exactly, portland never gets sun, i wish i could tan like her. maybe we should be friends with her before the hoes at kappa take her because she sure is pretty enough to hang." renee adds as randy kisses her cheek.

"nah, she wouldn't go for the kappas."

"how do you know?"

"trust me when i say she won't."

sasha paid her bill before exiting the diner and getting on her bike. seth watched as she slipped her earbuds in and headed up the hill back to her building.

yeah, they were friends. he thought.
