You pull dress after dress from your closet, holding them in front of yourself in front of the mirror.
'Oh my god, this will do!' You shout frustratedly, grabbing some heels to match the black dress. Checking your phone you see there are a few texts of Clarissa, your best friend since grade school, and James, your boyfriend of 6 years.
*texts*
James- hi, babe, I've just arrived at the party cya there?
Clarissa- Hi can u pick me up in five, my Jack left without me!
You- yeah sure x
You call James and he pick up within the first ring,
'Hey I'm heading off now, I'll be a bit late I have to go get Clarissa too.'
'Ok babe I'll meet you there, love you lil.'
'Love you too loser' you say as you laughing and quickly hang up. Laughing, you grab your phone and the keys, you head out to your red car parked in the driveway. You drove around the corner and past the shops and restaurants until you reached Clarissa's house. She was outside the door with her brown hair in short bouncy curls. She adjusted the skirt on her lacy red dress.
'You ready?' She said smirking at you.

'Yeah I guess so, let's head off!' You say pulling out of the street, and towards the party at Caleb's house. 'How's things with Caleb?' You ask as she smiles widely.

'Great!' You smile as the house comes into view. You walking in with Clarissa and spot James talking to the other football guys. He spots you looking and beckons you over. Placing an arm round your waist he leans in and kisses you on your forehead.
'We need to talk.' He whispers into your ear, as he pulls you into an empty room. 'I love you, lil.' He says, that's his nickname for you, Lil. But to everyone else your Lilly Cooper.
'I love you too, James' you say looking into he's deep blue eyes. His eyes seem hurt and distant as he holds your hands,
'Lil, I'm not going to be here for senior year, my family is moving to Washington.' He said, his face falling into despair. You can't stop the tears falling as he reaches to hold you close, you shake free of him and run straight out of the party. Struggling to calm your rapid breathing, you look for somewhere to sit, somewhere secluded. You open the gate to a small park and sit on a swing, slowly rocking whilst your thoughts crash over one and other. Tears falling down you cheeks as you barely hide their presence. The gate creaks open as a tall lanky boy, with messy blonde hair enters and sits in the swing next to me.
'H-hey Tyler,' you said sniffing back more tears. He looks at you, his eyes following every curve and dip, before resting his eyes on yours,

'I saw you running from the party, thought I'd come and see if you're ok,' he said reaching out and placing a hand on her shoulder. A car screeched round the corner as the dazzling headlights temporarily blinded you. Caleb exited the car and stood at the gate, looking threateningly at Tyler.

'Get the hell away from her!' His shout is brotherly and protective.
'We're only talking-' he said before Caleb cut across him.
'Come on, Lilly I'll take you home.' He said as you stood, waved good bye to Tyler and climbed into his car. He was silent until you arrived, before wishing you farewell he hugged you tight and sent you inside. Once the door closed behind you, you dashed towards the stairs and straight into your room, crying into the pillow for what seemed like all night. In the morning she awoke at 11am to find her curtains drawn and the dress from last night hanging on her closet. Her phone trilled with a text as it appeared on her screen-
-James- hey lil I know you probably hate me but the flight leaves at 12pm if you want to come.
You drop you phone and start pulling on some jeans and a shirt. Collecting your keys you run out to your car, and drive to the airport. Each second you spent in the car seemed to speed by, as though time didn't want you to see him one last time. You run into the airport and text James.
-you- what gate are you in?
-James- 4, thanks for coming, lil.
You follow the signs to gate 4 and look around for the hint of blonde curls in the sea of heads. You spot his pale blue eyes darting around and run up to him, jumping into his arms as he holds you close, unwilling to let go. Your eyes burn with the strength of holding back the tears. You sat together for the next fifteen minutes until his departure. The overhead tannoy announced-
'Gate four, flight GL17 boarding now.' You stood together and hugged goodbye, then watched him walk through the tunnel leading to the airplane. You walked back to your car, smacking the steering wheel hard with frustration as you cry once more.
'Senior year was not going to be easy,' you thought.

-9 months later-

'Push Lilly! Push!' An encouraging voice to your left shouted. Throughout your pregnancy everything had been fine, but the birth was painful and tiring.
'One more push should do it!' A doctor to your front said. 'Congratulations, you have yourself a healthy happy baby girl.' He added handing you a small bundle of blankets containing the baby.
'Oh she's gorgeous!' Squealed Clarissa your to left. Your mother seemed annoyed at something. Constantly gazing out the door.

'Now where is the father at?!' She said in a sceptical tone. No sooner had she mentioned it that Tyler walked through the doors.

'Oh wow Lilly she's beautiful!' He said half heartedly looking down at the bundle.

'Any name ideas?' Your mother asked, cooing over the baby.
'Everyone meet, Jamie Louise Cooper!' You say looking into their happy faces.
'Cooper? Is she not taking Tyler's name?' Your mother asked raising an eyebrow.
'No we both agreed she's a Cooper and were aren't married yet so it isn't a big scandal, mom!' You add laughing.

Two days later you were discharged and took your baby home. When you arrived you took her upstairs to her crib and lay her gently inside, before joining Tyler in the kitchen. His eyes were glassy and dilated as he stared at you reappearing down the stairs.
'Tyler I wish you would stop. We have a baby now I can't look after her along if you're always high!' You plead, for a second he simply stares, the next the back of his hand connects with your jaw. You hold your face where he struck, trembling in fear.

'Run along, you little bitch!' He sneered as he watched you dart up the stairs to the bedroom. Not long followed by Tyler, who lay uncomfortably close. In the morning, Tyler took you by the hands and apologised, pulling you into a hug.

'I'm so sorry, Lilly, I didn't mean to hurt you! I promise I'll never do it again!' He said. You nod, your words unable to form. He leans in and kisses your forehead and went off out the door.

He never stopped, however. One night he was watching the football when the opposing team scored, he took his glass and smashed it on the floor. He then grabbed you by the hair and dragged you, as you kick out and scream, into the bathroom and lock you there from the outside. In the morning he was apologetic but got down on one knee and proposed, holding out a small engagement ring. You accepted, fearful of how he would take rejection. Your friends did not approve. Clarissa and Caleb said you were making a big mistake, while your mother actually burst into tears. No one liked Tyler.

*Graduation day*

'Welcome parents, grandparents, siblings and carers! Welcome to the graduation of the class of 2012! These students have battled through their lives at school and at home, and each has managed to stand before you today as graduating seniors, moving up into college!' Clarissa's short speech was ended with loud applause. You look into the crowd and see Jamie sitting on your mother's knee. Tyler was graduating too. It was all rather boring and tedious. you collected your certificate and returned to the stand. Almost an hour later, you were stood in your underwear next to Tyler holding dresses in the mirror.

'That's what you're wearing? No offence Lilly, but you still don't have you pre-pregnancy body back and that dress won't do you any favours.' He said eyeing your stomach in the mirror. You nod, and pulled on a bodysuit and some jeans. Tyler nods his approval as you grab you keys and head out the door.

'You're not wearing that. It's a party not a cinema!' Clarissa said, stubbornly, handing her a dress. 'Try that one! I won't take no for an answer Lilly! You have to be you got once.' You nod and pull on the dress. At the party, everyone complimented your outfit and you for the first time in years. Since James left. The party was raging until midnight when oriole started to leave. I followed and headed hole, Jack another friend from school drove.

'See ya, thanks for the ride Jack.' I shouted as he pulled away. Tyler was in the kitchen when I arrived home.
