Later that night we got a call from the lawyers. It was the first we'd heard in weeks. James left the room, Jamie went to bed near after.
'I promise, I'll send daddy in to say goodnight when he's done, ok?' I said laughing as she sat arms crossed, she has Clarissa's temper. Maybe they shouldn't hang out so much. I pulled out my phone and called Clarissa.

'Hey, I swear Jamie reminds me so much of you!' I said laughing down the receiver.

'Well what can I say!' She said laughing back.

'Not a compliment, babe!' I said shaking my head.

'Something up?' She said as if she could sense the tension down the phone.

'James is on the phone to the lawyers, I don't know what's up?' I said before she would ask.

'Send Jamie round here, then you can have a proper talk with him when he's done.'

'Cassie she's been in bed for an hour.' I said checking my watch.

'Shit yeah never mind then, keep me updated, Lilly' she said as I agreed and hung up. James emerged, his face full of anger and frustration.

'James, is everything ok?' I said standing up and holding his hand with a squeeze. He shook his head sitting on the chair and pulling me onto his lap.

'That was Tyler's lawyers.'he said sighing. 'Tyler's parents paid the bail fee, he's being released later today.' My face dropped, the worries that hadn't plagued me for week came rushing back in a wave of emotion. James pulled me into a close hug. 'Lil, he isn't going to find you again, he won't hurt you. I promise.' He said with sincerity and honesty. I hung my head, the tears falling onto my lap.

'He can't be out. He can't, he'll come after us, me and you and Jamie.' I said my head swimming with all the anxiety that Tyler brought. A heavy weight was pushing down on my stomach and chest making it more difficult to draw breaths. Pulling quick short breaths, my mind was spinning around me, my thoughts jumbled and unable to process anything.
'Lolly, just breathe. Ok?' James day cross-legged in front of me, holding my hands in his. Slowing my breathing down, I took longer breaths and soon the weight was lifted slightly. We sat in silence for what felt like and hour. He lifted me onto the couch and kissed my forehead. Moving to the kitchen to make some tea.
'Bathroom.' I muttered, excusing myself. Opening the first door to the right, the darkness was dense and was difficult to penetrate. Switching on the light I saw him standing with a wicked grin on his face and shotgun held tight in his hands. Tyler.

'Scream and I'll shoot her.' He said pointing to the shower where Jamie was sat her mouth gaged and her arms and ankles tied. My knees give way with shock, I crawled towards Jamie cradling her close. 'Get up, you're coming with me.' He snarled in my ear, pulling my hair back exposing my neck.
'I will, I will. Please. Just don't hurt Jamie.' I whispered back tears spilling over my cheeks.

'Clever girl.' He whispered, pulling me away from my child and pushing me through to large bathroom window out into the night, his gun nudging forcefully in my back.

Jamie P.O.V-

Mommy disappeared through the window with Tyler and a car pulled away. I pulled my hands under my butt and threaded my feet through. I pulled down the fabric acting as a gag and yelled as loud as I could.
'Daddy! Daddy help me!' I cried as I wiggles and squirmed in the base of the glass fronted shower. I heard his footsteps approach fast shouting out to me, he ran past and into another room.
'No daddy! I'm in here! I'm in the shower!' I cried, tears spilling freely. The door sprang open as my dad pulled me out of the shower, untying my hands and surveying me for injuries.
'What happened, baby? How did you get in here?' He said holding me to his chest.
'T-Tyler, daddy. He woke me up when you and mommy were cuddling. He said that I had to be quiet and we could surprise mommy but then you started talking on the phone and we ran into here. He had a big gun too. He said it was to protect us. He brought me into the shower and tied my hands and put this thingy over my lips.' I said sniffing gently into his broad chest. 'Then mommy came and she cuddled me close, Tyler said 'if you scream I'll shoot her!' And he pointed his big gun at me, then he took mommy through the window daddy.' I finished looking up at him, fresh tears blossoming.
'Baby, we'll get mommy back ok.' He pulled her close and held her tight. 'Wait he had a gun!' The realisation hit like a brick wall. His eyes wide and scared. 'Baby I need you to stay next door with Auntie Cassie while I go get mommy.' She nodded rubbing her eyes. A red mark snaking around her wrists. He kissed her fore head and carried her out of the house and to the next house. Knocking as loud as he could, unsure if Clarissa and Caleb would be awake. Clarissa answered, her face unsure and worried.
'James? What's up? Where's Lilly?' She asked looking around for a hint of the feminine presence.
'Tyler, he broke up around ten minutes ago. He had Jamie tied up in the bathroom and we didn't even hear him!' James set Jamie down  and aimed a punch at the brick wall.
'James! Really!' Clarissa picked Jamie up and took her inside. 'Get your ass out there, Caleb and make sure he doesn't kill himself or Tyler!' Her voice drifted through the open door as Caleb hurried out, his face red and flushed.

'Sorry, dude.' He clapped James on the back, walking towards his car as James hopped in the opposite side. They drove around trying to spot a glimpse of anything suspicious. Soon the minutes were passing by and still nothing appeared.
Half an hour passed. Nothing.
An hour. Nothing.
Three hours passed and still Tyler and Lilly were as illusive as the clouds on a clear day. Absent-minded, James tapped on the pane of the window, looking wildly at the passing cars and pedestrians. His phone trilled with an incoming call, the number unknown.
*call*
'Hello, who's this?' His voice was sharp in the silence of the car. The caller was silent except for a distant muffled noise.
'Why hello James.' The voice was full of smug amusement and sneer dislike. Tyler.
'What the fuck have you done to her, Tyler?!' His voice was rage was exploding from him faster than he could control it. A shot rang through the speaker followed by agonising screams.
'Tut, tut, James. That's not how you talk to me. If you carry on this attitude your little fiancé gets another bullet.' Lilly's voice rang from the phone.
'James, James! I'm fine, don't come it's a trap, he has a gun! Take Jamie and keep her safe, Jam-!' Her sentence was cut short as more agonising screams rang through, however no shots were heard.
'Keep your mouth shut, bitch!' Tyler's voice was a quiet snarl but was still audible through the phone. 'Your girlfriend must like being punished James. Would you like to know why she screamed, James?' He said in a falsely sweet tone.
'No I don't, leave her alone Tyler! Don't hurt her!' He pleaded although he knew the battle was lost until he arrived there to protect Lilly.

'Well James you see first I shot her in the leg, then I stabbed her in her thigh! No this is difficult! You'll just have to meet us at the big log cabin then!' He said in a his fake cooing voice. 'Now I'll just set my phone here so you can here everything!' The line went silent as Tyler moved away from the phone. Most likely toward Lilly. James assumptions were correct as Lilly began to shout once more.
'Get away from me! Get your hands off me! Don't touch me!' Her voice chocked and tearful as he imagined what Tyler could be putting her through. Caleb grabbed the phone from his hand and hung up the line.
'You aren't sitting there listening to him get control of you.' He said in a firm tone.
'Ok Clarissa.' He said, the corners of his mouth twitched slightly. 'We need to get to the log cabin on the edge of town. Fast!'
We arrived near minutes later.
