THE CHASE

CH#7:"DU REPOS!"

Who would deny some beautiful sizzler after such a pathetic day. I was 'ALMOST' out of money and my brother had shitting betrayed me and I had been fighting, jumping and running since morning. I was almost jailed once and drove a long way out and now looking at the smokey sizzler infront of which buzzed at me with eagerness, I forgot all problems. I just pounced on my meal and in a few minutes, I was sitting infront of a clean shining plate.
I would almost burp but there were quite many people in the restaurant. I asked for some water and desert. After a satisfying meal, I got the bill. After receiving the bill, I had a good news and bad news for myself.
The good news was that the bill was in my budget. The bad news was that, that after paying the bill, I was only left with roughly two to three bucks. I didn't even know if there was any bank nearby.

I left the restaurant with a happy tummy but a restless mind who was betrayed and in trouble and now even the problem of money had invaded me. I made it to the reception to ask if there was any bank or something nearby. I made it to the reception but the receptionist was missing at the counter. There was just a hat wearing guy with a cool beach shirt seated in the waiting seat.
"Sir? Do you have any idea where the receptionist is?" I asked him. He poked him hat up to get a better look at me.
"Ahhh...." He sighed as if he knew the answer but then his eyebrows went down with a look of suspicion, he give me an uneasy stare and then asked,"Who are you, anyways?"
"I am Cole. What is your name?"
"Well...my friends and family call me Kevin."
"Yes Kevin, can you tell me where the receptionist is?"
"No idea, Cole." He smiled like a kid as if he was enjoying to pronounce my name.
"Oh great. I am doomed then." I sighed.
Kevin looked at me for few seconds and then got up and said,"Cole!"
"Yes?"
"Let's get a walk. What do you say? I really like your name, Cole! Come... I will grab you a drink."
I followed him without saying anything. I would not reject any free offers, because I was anyway out of money.
We grabbed a few drinks and started talking.
"So, Cole! You live abroad?" He asked.
"No. Right here. US." I replied sipping.
"Then why hotel?" He questioned
"It's complicated."
"Well, my life is way more complicated. I have enough time to listen to another complicated story. For sure, Cole!" He smiled as he said my name. He chuckled like a kid.
"Actually the police is chasing me though I am no thief. I have been involved in between mafias by mistake and that story is long."
He looked at me for a while and said,"You look no thief to me. You are not one right?"
"No, I ain't. I am involved in this mess by mistake. Just because I survived a blast, they are using me to cover up their crime." I explained.
"Oh..." He placed his finished glass on the table.
"What do you plan to do then?" Kevin asked in a concerned way. "I live in Russia, I am here for some official work but it got cancelled and now my flight is seven days later. So, I have live for seven days somewhere and this stupid lodge is full. That is why I was in waiting." Kevin said.
"Why don't you book a ticket for before?"
"I can't. I am not such a rich person. My office had planned the flight and now the next flight is only after seven days. Me? I have only money left with which I can afford a room in a small lodge and now this lodge is full. This area has no hotel as well. Wow." He said sadly.
"Oh...Why is there only one hotel here?" I asked.
"The owner of this hotel has built one hotel or office in each area of US. In this area, this is the one." Kevin explained making a monkey face.
"Whoa! Who afforded so many hotels in each region!?" I asked taking my last sip.
"Yes... The owner is one super rich guy. Right now he is in the list of the most wealthiest people. He is just too damn rich." Kevin said scratching his forehead.
"Oh... Who is this guy anyways?" I asked curiously placing the glass on the table.
"Yeah... You don't know him? Mr.Haggary Chan? He owns this plot as well!"
