(3RD POV)
*Time Skip 2 Weeks*
We could see our hero in the middle of the forest training with his Pokemon, mostly Gible seeing as he was the weakest in Ash's party with Meloetta assisting Ash on how to train his newly evolved Gabite, "Gabite use 'Dragon Claw!'" Ash shouted as he was watching from behind, Gabite charged forward with his claw's glowing blue, then sliced the boulder in half.
Ash and Gabite cheered and hugged each other(?) while Meloetta smiled warmly at the interaction between the two. After being abandoned by her trainer, she was worried that it might take longer for Ash to gain her trust. But it's Ash. Anything is possible. Anyway, she feels happy that Gabite accepted Ash but she feels a tad bit jealous that she was receiving 'A LOT' more attention from Ash than her. (In reality not that much at all)
So she had an idea, not much of an idea more of an act out of jealousy. She went up to him and tugged on his shirt making him let go of Gabite, resulting in said Pokemon to whine in dissatisfaction which made Meloetta smirk a little which didn't go unnoticed by the cave Pokemon. "Oh what is it Meloetta?" asked Ash, oblivious as always to these kind of affairs. Meloetta replied by opening her arms as if signaling she wants a hug. Ash had gotten used to these kind of gestures.
For the past two weeks, Ash's two companions were competing for Ash's attention the whole time. Each trying to do their best for Ash to give them praise with each one wanting head pats, praise, and a kiss on the cheek. (You could guess who asked for that) Both of them competed to gain his attention which lead to Gible evolving into Gabite.
Later that night, we can see our hero tossing and turning in his sleep. Now you maybe wondering what is happening in there, and what could cause him so much grief and anguish?
*Dream realm*
Here we see a little boy hanging from a cliff scared out of his mind, but this specific boy was Ash Ketchum. He and his best-friend, Gary were playing in Gary's grandfather's ranch, but got too far from his house. Gary already ran to call for his Grandfather's help, while Ash was holding on for dear life. While doing so, his hand slipped. But before he could fall to his demise a shadowy figure leaped out of the trees. Before anything could happen, everything went black.
*Real World*
Ash woke up in cold sweat that night, with both of his Pokemon worried for their Trainer. When asked what is wrong he simply waved it off and reassured them as they reluctantly went back to sleep, and Ash not so far behind.
But during this, something was outside hiding beneath the tree in the shadows. A figure could be seen, hiding beneath the tree canopy. It stalked the tent watching, waiting for something to happen. Thanks to the trees, you can not see exactly what it was but the only thing you can see was its eyes that seemed to glow in the dark.
Once everything calmed down it left with no trace.
*The Next Day*
We could see Ash standing outside a building built almost entirely out of boulders except of the obvious metal beams keeping it up. His Gabite inside his pokeball while Meloetta was on Ash's shoulder invisible. Ash has a look of determination as he pushed open the doors to the gym.
As he entered, all he saw was darkness. Once he fully entered the doors, behind him closed shut. "So, you have come to challenge me?" A voice could be heard above them, after spotlight from above lit up and was directed at a podium. There stood a brown spikey haired male with eyes that resembled slits. This was Brock, The Gym Leader of Pewter City.
Ash gulped nervously before looking at the Gym Leader, Brock, in the eyes(?) and said " I, Ash from Pallet Town, challenge Brock, The Gym Leader of Pewter City!" He exclaimed. Brock seemed unamused, he had already fought two people from pallet town, one of which needed to fight him two times to get the badge from him. Why should he expect something different with this child, right?
*YOU THOUGHT IT WAS DIO, BUT IT WAS I TIMESKIP!*
Here we could see Ash, and Brock, stood on opposite sides of a rocky battlefield, tension high in the air for Ash. As the referee got up to the stand he raised up his flag, announcing, "The match between Brock, of Pewter city, and Ash of Pallet tow, shall commence! Each trainer can use up to two Pokemon, and the challenger has the ability to switch Pokemon, while the Gym leader cannot. Are both challenger's ready?"
Brock stoically nods a yes, Ash is still a bit nervous, but agrees. "Then let the battle commence!" The battle starts off with both choosing their respective Pokemon, Ash choosing Gabite, while brock sent out his Geodude. Brock was surprised to see a Pokemon from another region, and a pseudo nonetheless, but he recomposed himself. The Gabite was just probably from his parents.
Now with both Pokemon on the field the battle really begins. Both opponents were still waiting for one of them to make a move. Tired of the waiting Brock finally went first and commanded "Geodude use 'Rock throw'!" realizing what he is gonna do Ash interrupted with "Gabite stop Geodude, use 'Dig'! " Gabite quickly digs under the battle field, letting the rocks completely missing her.
Brock smirks at this, he was expecting for Ash to power through the attacks like the others, but he chose to avoid the attack "I guess he knows what he is doing, I might have to get more serious" were the thoughts that went through Brock's head, as he readies himself for Gabite to emerge from the ground.
Ash had practiced this with Gible so they can have the upper hand, by using a surprise attack, and, if they use it against them, they have a back up plan. "Gabite use 'Dig'! on Geodude and follow it up with a 'Slash'!" Gabite dug up from underneath Geodude and quickly dispatching it with a hard Slash, knocking it out immediately.
Brock was surprised not only was this Gabite strong, but was able to knock out his Geodude in one hit! "I guess I was underestimating you Ash, but believe me when I tell you this, I won't be making the same mistake again." Ash smirked and responded with a nod before preparing for his next Pokemon.
The moment the Pokemon was released, the battlefield shook by the sheer size of it alone, it roared to try to intimidate it's opponent, but Gabite only rolled their eyes at this. Onix! Use 'Dig'! and wait for me to give you the signal!" As Onix burrowed underneath the battlefield, Ash smirked, which went unnoticed by Brock. "Gabite use 'Earthquake'!"
Brocks eye's(?) widen at this "Onix get out of their!" But it was too late once the attack was over his Onix unconscious body emerged from underneath, he gave a sigh of relief before returning his Pokemon to it's pokeball. He looked at Ash who was congratulating his Gabite with praise ,and head pats(lucky) Before clearing his throat, catching the attention of Ash, who just returned his Gabite back to it's pokeball.
"I present Ash, of Pallet Town, the Boulder Badge of Pewter City. Good job Ash, you deserved this." Brock outstretches his hands towards Ash, and opening it, reveals the Boulder Badge. Ash carefully took it out of his hands before bringing it up to his face. He smiled lightly before jumping in joy for finally getting his first Gym Badge.
When Ash went out of the Gym it was already close to becoming night, so he made it towards the Poke center to rest and let his Pokemon out to sleep. With Meloetta sleeping with him on the bed and Gabite lying down on the floor. Quickly ending the day, excited to continue his adventure tomorrow, and proud that he finally got his first Gym Badge.
