Keirix: A powerful mage whose eyes change color based on their emotions. Males are extremely rare, and are significantly more powerful than females. Males can get pregnant, and have periods, though only about every six months. They are able to "materialize"—for lack of a better word—a female reproductive system to get pregnant.
Royal Cobran: a large man-sized snake that bonds with a member of the royal family of Sekanseht. A royal cobran is bonded with their royal very soon after birth, and the bond lasts a lifetime. People who are bonded with a royal cobran can understand and communicate with them, unbeknownst to others.
The Eight: the eight gods and goddesses who reign over the realm of Theydia. Taika: God of purity, determination, storms and wanderers. Patron of tigers, red camellias, and the north. Shinen: Goddess of fire, sex, blood, and insanity. Patron of cougars, cardinals, and the south. Islylia: Goddess of fertility, water, isolation, and sailors. Patron of carp, white roses, and the east. Nyren: God of serenity, forests, and alchemy. Patron of hummingbirds, clovers, and the west. Colio: Goddess of decay, death, and ice. Patron of butterflies, black magic hollyhocks, and the northeast. Eden: Goddess of creativity, forging, and aging. Patron of ravens, lotuses, and the northwest. Jyremia: God of love, mystery, bliss, fog, and the sea. Patron of jellyfish, liatris, and the southeast. Vest: God of action, strength, war, metals, and soldiers. Sekanseht: The Eastern nation ruled by the Serpentes line. Their southern borders are constantly changing, due to their ongoing war with Helisai, though they have never dipped north of Liasy. They are mostly a human kingdom, and engage in the practice of owning and selling Keirixes.
Helisai: The Southern nation ruled by the Helisai line of keirixes. Their northeastern borders are constantly changing, due to the ongoing war with Sekanseht. They are mostly a keirix kingdom, and the only kingdom who is ruled by keirixes.
Faliz: The Southwestern nation ruled by the Faliz line. Most of their kingdom resides in the Mahaerin Desert, and their borders are defined by the Shino Mountains. They are mostly a human kingdom, though they are home to the keirix settlement of Ixes.
Cairn: The Northwestern nation ruled by the Cairn line. Their eastern border is constantly fluctuating due to the constant war with Alleria. They are mostly a human kingdom, but the enslaving and selling of keirixes has been outlawed as of late, due to the crown prince's reforms.
Alleria: The Northern nation ruled by the Alleria line. Their western border is constantly fluctuating due to the constant war with Cairn. They are mostly a human kingdom, and the enslaving and selling of keirixes is commonplace, as keirixes are seen as lesser beings.
Oken: The mysterious Southwestern nation across the strait of Jyre filled with magical spells and intrigue. It is ruled by King Nikolai Tales, though not much is known about Oken on the mainland.
Edian: A small city-state ruled by the four guilds—Merchant, Assassin, Thief, and Courtesan. The entire city is governed by the four guild masters, which are elected when the previous one dies.
