the breakdown
Virgil had warned him that this could be the outcome, so why didn't he listen. Why did he genuinely think that it would turn out okay. His name may have been deceit a previous dark side, but that didn't stop hi from feeling pain. Physically or emotionally.
It had been a week since that fateful day. Him opening up and saying his name, in the slight hope they'd believe him. He knew it could backfire. He didn't realise how badly.
Roman had gone to Virgil. When the side had found out what had been said, well... the bruise on his eye was getting better.
But... when Remus had found out? He had become almost invisible to said side. Any attempts to apologize to his friend went ignore despite his best efforts.
And that's what led him into the kitchen. It was a reasonable size with an island in the centre. Patton had shown him where everything was. He'd remembered the kitchen like the back of his hand.
What he didn't expect to see was Patton in a bright pink apron baking what seemed to be chocolate chip cookie. And apparently, he didn't expect to see Janus standing at the door looking on inquisitively.
"oh, hello kiddo,"
"hello Patton, how aren't you?"
He seemed to think about the question, "I'm doing the best that I can,"
"that's not wonderful," I took a deep breath before continuing my way into the kitchen.
Patton had put a tray of cookies into the oven and looked around the room rather satisfied.
"have you spoken to the others by any chance?" I whispered.
"yeah, they seem to be doing better, how about you?"
"roman and vee are not refusing to let me see them and Remus..." I hesitated, "well he wont even acknowledge my presence at all,"
I hadn't even realised the tears were pouring till Patton had be in a constricting hold. Morality was a trait I wish I could've had.
We must have stood there hugging one another for quite some time. If the alarming beeps coming from the timer set by the oven was any indication.
Hearing the door creak open I turned my eyes to the figure walking in. dressed in a white suit and with his red sash. He seemed be looking at the room perplexed. Not expecting me to be here, well... surprise.
"hello roman," I mumbled as I looked down from the stool id positioned onto.
He looked at me once again, something set over his face and I hated it. Pity.
"I'm not fine," the prince pulled the stool one seat over from where I was out and sit down.
"look, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have laughed okay, but...you said something that you know would hit far too close to home,"
"I told you my name in hopes that you would trust me, the last person I trusted with my name left both Remus and I," I could feel the waves of emotion begin to build.
"verge really left you?"
"I'm definitely over it now, it definitely didn't destroy us," I growled.
Patton made his way over, but not before gasping at what he saw. De- Janus looked up. his snake eye had shifted. The whites had become black, and the snake slit seemed to cause his scales to glow.
