~Author's POV~

It's midnight and you have work at 7 am, yet you're on a discord call with TheMountainBoy8. who you know as San, or so he says. You and San are playing Call of Duty, and he keeps getting mad at you because you keep killing him in your 1v1s. You can't help but laugh at his frustrations.

"Fine! You're better at 1v1s than me! There's no need to rub it in!" He said with a light giggle, causing you to crack yet another smile.

"Can we play a different game mode now?" He added a few moments later, with a pout. You snapped out of your momentary daze and focused back on the screen, pressing the 'V' key on your keyboard to unmute yourself.

"Yeah, of course, which game mode?" You asked, giving in to his pouty tone.

You both played video games until you noticed rays of light beaming from your blinds. You looked at the time and jolted upright, there's no way I could've stayed up all night. You thought to yourself as you saw your blinking alarm telling you it was 6 am. You exited the game to the home screen, told San your goodbyes and rushed to get ready for work. You put on your uniform which consisted of black dress pants and a collared white shirt. You then put your hair up in a rushed bun and grabbed your work apron, keys, and handbag. You began your walk, feeling a feeling of exhaustion wash over you from the lack of sleep. You could very easily grab a coffee at work however coffee has never been something you've enjoyed. You were a barista at a small cafe that wasn't usually busy, but either way, you'd much rather get an energy drink than make yourself a coffee. It was nice out for the first time this spring, though you liked the rain, the sun was a nice change of pace. You stopped at a convenience store to get an energy drink and made it to work with a few minutes to spare.

~Y/N's POV~

Work is so exhausting, the only good thing about this place is the discount on drinks and sweets. I thought to myself as I washed my hands. I started making a decaf cappuccino, but I made a mess and had to clean that up before continuing. Something about kitchen safety guidelines or whatever. I remade the customer's decaf cappuccino and was going to write their name on the cup but I don't think they mentioned a name. I asked the receptionist, Jay, who told me that his name was Chan. I wasn't fully paying attention when he told me. I was busy staring at a man who looked oddly familiar in the corner of the cafe. The man had dusty blonde hair that fell just above his eyes, which are a gorgeous espresso brown. His nose was a little big but still kind of cute, he had full rosy lips and a sense of fashion. To sum it up he was extremely attractive.

"Hello? Earth to Y/N," Jay repeated for the 4th time. I stopped staring at the man when he snapped his fingers in my face. Whoops.

"Sorry! What was that?" I asked. He scoffed and went to look at the man that I was staring at so intently. He pointed with his head, in the direction of the man, and I nodded my head yes while getting the cup ready.

"Him? Why don't you put your number on his cup? He ordered a decaf cappuccino with foam." Jay jokingly suggested, but I was up for it. Sure, it would be a bit corny, "The barista and the customer," but what's so wrong with a bit of corn every now and then? I wrote my number on the cup and placed it on the counter.

"Order for Chan! Decaf Cappuccino with foam!" Now that I've said it out loud, the name Chan sounded familiar as well, I just couldn't for the life of me figure out why. He walked up to the counter and thanked me for making his drink, and gave me a tip. It was an extremely generous tip as well, around 10$, which was the cost of his drink. He had already paid for his drink, though, so the 10 was either a tip or a mistake, but either way, I'll take it. I watched him leave when he realized there was a number on the cup he seemed happy, either that or he was laughing at me. At least I saw his smile, he has dimples! That made him even cuter, which was kind of unfair. Share the attractiveness, please! He looked back into the cafe and gave me a thumbs-up before going out of view.
