"So that's what this is all about." I hold up a envelope Mister Sanders handed me on his way out the door.

"And what may be in the envelope, teach." Roman rolls his eyes in my direction.

"250 dollars. Thomas gave it to me before leaving for work." I smack the envelope lightly against Roman's forehead. Causing him to gape and offended noises to spill from his mouth.

"Goodie! Logan can we take your car, with you driving of course." Patton's eyes light up. He loves shopping. I don't find it as exciting, roaming around a building to by unnecessary objects doesn't tickle my fancy. Did I use that right? But seeing him so excited truly makes me happy.

I glance toward our new youngest, who is currently slack jawed and shaking his head. My brow furrows and I adjust my glasses, "What seems to be the problem Virgil?"

He puts his hand out, only confusing us more. He sighs and pretends to write. "Oh!" Patton chuckles and hands him his phone.

His thin boney finger types quickly before he hands the phone back to Patton. "Care to relay, Patton." I say after he has read over it.

"Yes, sorry," He clears his throat, "Virgil says he doesn't want us to spend money on him because it'll be a waste of money." I notice Patton's eyes becoming watery as his frown deepens. I gently rest my arm around his shoulders and he rests his head against my shoulder.

"Virgil, Thomas gave us the money to buy you some clothes. He did say they were going back to your home to collect your belongings, but if you still want to we'd like to take you to get some new things." Roman explains, and for once sounds intelligent.

Virgil's expression seems slightly angry as he rips Patton's phone back, typing quickly. He huffs and hands to phone back, crossing his arms tightly over his chest.

"He says, there no point spending money on him because he'll just mess things up. He doesn't want us to just throw the money away like that." Patton turns his phone off and sets it face down on the kitchen island in front of us.

"You were probably taught that money and time should not be put toward yourself and everyone else deserves it more than you do. However, right now we are giving you this opportunity to spend the money however you like because you do deserve it." I look directly at Virgil as I speak to him, his eyes becoming wide.

He nods his head before his glance takes to the floor. "Do you want to leave now?" Patton asks as he pockets his phone. Another silent nod from Virgil.

"Roman, you and Virgil can take the back while Patton sits in the passenger seat." I grab my keys from the bowl in front of Mister Sanders' office.

"Why-" Dear god Roman, can't you do something without complaining.

"Because Patton is the oldest and I don't want you constantly changing to music." I grumble and make my way out the door.

TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY MYSTERY ORANGE SIDE

So far, our outing has gained us two bags from H&M, a bag from American Eagle, and a pretzel for each of us for lunch. We are currently wandering, Patton at my side. Roman and Virgil have fallen slightly behind us, but we are keeping our pace slow.

"I think we should hit Hot Topic, seems like a store Virgil would like and I want to see if they have any cool pins for my jean jacket!" Patton's walking is practically turned into skipping.

"Sounds like a plan, Patton." I glance at the clock on my phone, "That should be our last stop, though. Thomas should be getting home from work soon and I think it would be better for us to be back before he does."

I glance back at the other two, a small smile twitching to my face. Virgil's face has bloomed a wide smile, his eyes squinted from laughter. He looks so happy.

A hand grabs my wrist and drags me into a store. "Patton, the store is not going anywhere, you do not have to rush." I sigh but don't truly mind his actions.

"I know, I know." He giggles with a flushed face, "I just love shopping." I wander around with Patton as he darts toward the Harry Potter section of the store.

Patton picks up a navy blue shirt with a small Ravenclaw emblem on the chest and holds it up to me. With a nod he folds the shirt over his arm and continues around the store.

I hear small gasp and turn toward the front of the store. Virgil has ahold of Roman's arm and has a zip up sweater shirt in the other hand. The dark jacket has several large plaid purple patches, and the smaller size looks like it will still hang on his body.

"You find something you like Virge?" Patton asks with a grin. The boy eagerly nods. "You ready to pay?" He frowns and thinks for a moment before nodding once again.

Together we got the Ravenclaw shirt, which Patton choose it for me, Virgil's jacket, a Steven Universe sweatshirt for Roman, and Patton got a Bill Cipher sweater for Janus. Patton takes the bag and thanks the woman who checked us out.

I slide my arm around Patton's shoulders as we make our way to the exit. I hear a laugh and some breathy chuckles from behind us and we both glance around.

Virgil has climbed onto Roman's back, his legs hooked around his hips and arms sling around his neck. With a grin and a pink face Virgil buries his face in Roman's auburn hair.

Patton squeals, "He seems to be taking a liking to Roman. I'm glad he becoming more comfortable around us." His grin turns to a small frown. "He woke up screaming this morning, I was so scared I wasn't going to be able to help. But he let me hug him and comfort him, it was nice to know he found it safe to confide in me."

I squeeze his shoulder, "I think Virgil is going to enjoy his time here."
