Y/n POV:

Something just wasn't the same after Bilbo's one hundred and eleventh's birthday party. After he had left. Gandalf would visit frequently, but as time passed on his visits became more rare.

I would often visit Frodo, just to see how he was doing, if he was eating and keeping himself sane.

We were super close when we were younger, I would always go over to hear bilbo's stories and to play with Frodo. I can still remember when I made Frodo a mud pie and he actually ate it. And of course ended up feeling super sick.

I still laugh at the memory.

But after Bilbo left, I guess my visits soon became like Gandalf's. Less and less frequent.

Tonight however I had convinced Frodo to come out to get ale and hang out with me, Sam, Pippin, and Merry.

The night carried on with songs and happiness through out the many gathered Hobbits. But every thing comes to an end. As the night inched closer to the end, it was time to send the Hobbits home.

"I told you it would be fun," I laughed giving Frodo a gently shove as I followed him and Sam. Our heads turned to hear a decently intoxicated Hobbit talking to Rosie.

"Mind who you're sweet talking." I heard Sam sigh turning back around.

"Don't worry Sam, Rosie knows an idiot when she sees one," Frodo smiled. I came up behind them pushing myself between the two.

"Oh yeah all us girls do," I laughed jumping a bit infront of them.

"You do?" Sam's face looked back at Rosie and then back over to us as we walked Frodo home.

The beautiful garden of Bag End came closer into view. Ending our short walk with Frodo.

I looked over noticing that the door was slightly cracked open. Frodo never left the door open.

"Frodo you want us to follow you inside," I offer as Frodo walked into the garden.

"No I'm fine, I will see you guys later alright," Frodo glanced over at us and I watched as he walked inside.

"Something isnt right," I felt a deep unsettling feeling in the bottom of my stomach.

"Oh come on I will walk you home," Sam said starting to walk away from Bag End.

"Nope," I grabbed Sam's wrist and carefully ran into the garden peeking down under the window.

"What are we doing," Sam looked over to me.

"Shush," I glared over at him indicating him to lower his voice.

I peeked up a bit higher and saw Gandalf. I quickly dropped my head back down.

"Why is Gandalf here? Did you know he was here?" I looked over at Sam's keeping my voice hushed. Sam shook his head.

"No I dont even remeber seeing his fireworks," Sam spoke softly.

"He sounds panicked and worried...thats not like Gandalf at all," I said my heart rate speeding up a bit. Sam opened his mouth to say something but I put my hand on his mouth to quickly shut him up so we could listen.

"-the spirit of sauron endured. His life force is bound ring, and the ring survived. Sauron has returned and his Orcs have multiplied.-" Gandalf's words spoke on and on.

Sam and I sharing glances at once another. Knowing we shouldn't be hearing anything about this.

I heard Frodo's voice rise as he practically begged Gandalf to take the ring. How the ring could not stay in the Shire.

Sam's foot slipped from under him hitting something that made a noise. My eyes widened going to Sam as arms reached over the window pulling Sam inside.

"Samwise Gamgee! Have you been eavesdropping," I heard Gandalf's voice erupt through my ears as he spoke to sam.

"No no we weren't we were um-"

"We?" I heard Frodo's voice speak up. I mentally curse still staying crouch down in my spot under the window.

"It was y/n's idea," I heard Sam's voice say shakily. I stand up and glare at Sam through the open window.

"Thanks for ratting me out." I say throwing my arms up dramatically.

"Get in here," Gandalf instructed firmly. I sighed and decided to walk all the way to the door and walk in that way.

I walked up to the now group and familar faces.

"What did you two hear? SPEAK!" Gandalf said sternly looking at both Sam and I.

"Nothing important, that is we heard a great deal about a ring and a dark lord-"

"And something about the end of the world, ya great stuff love to stay and chat but," I shrugged cutting off Sam's words with my own and I turned and started back for the door. Only to feel Gandalf's hand on my shoulder pulling me back into the conversation.
