Y/n POV:
It was a miserable night. For all of us really. We all missed home, we were all tired and anxious. All of us had questions that wouldnt recieve answers.
Strider lead us out of Bree.
"Where are you taking us," Frodo spoke up to Strider.
"into the wild," Strider replied flatly.
My heart skipped a beat, anxiousness filling in the pit of my stomach.
"How do we know this strider is a friend of Gandalfs" Merry muttered looking over at Frodo.
"I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer and feel fouler." Frodo replied.
I looked ahead looking at strider. Frodo had a point. Just like those Nazgul riders had an eerie dark feel to them. Where ever they were they made the air heavy and dark.
Strider didn't really carry that with him.
"He's foul enough," Merry spat softly.
"We have no choice but to trust him," Frodo sighed.
"But where is he leading us," Sam asked unsure of the situation we had all gotten ourselves into.
"To rivendell master Gamgee, to the house of Elrond." Strider said, obviously over hearing our conversation.
"Did you hear that? Rivendell! we're going to see the elves!" Sam said, excitment filling his voice as he spoke.
I rolled my eyes slightly. The only thing I wanted to see right now was my room after waking up and realizing this was all just one big crazy dream.
We traveled for the rest of the morning and heading into the afternoon. We paused on our trek up a hill as Sam began to pull out cookware.
"Gentlemen, we do not stop till nightfall." Strider says plainly looking back at us.
"What about breakfast." Pippin asked looking at Strider.
"We've already had it," Strider said looking around slightly.
"We've had one yes, what about second breakfast?" Pippin pointing out.
Strider shook his head and continued to walk.
"Don't think he knows about second breakfast pip," Merry said walking up beside Pippin.
"What about elevensus, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, supper, he knows about them doesn't he?" Pippin says frowning a bit.
"I wouldn't count on it," Merry added.
From the bushes an apple was tossed out as Merry quickly catches it handing it to pippin.
Another apple came flying from the bushes which hitting pippin in the head.
I laughed followed by snickering laughter from the rest of us.
We continued our trek through the countryside until we reached a plain marshland.
The condition made worse from the amount of bugs in the air.
"What do they eat when they cant get Hobbit," merry complained just as Pippin stumbled and falls.
A laugh erupted in me as I watched them from behind.
Night soon began to fall as we made camp. The moon rose in the sky as my fellow Hobbits drifted off to sleep one by one. I layed on my back staring up at the sky knowing I wouldn't get much sleep again tonight.
