{This is an England AU I guess because I'm British and don't have that much effort to go and change things so deal with it}
I groaned as Jon rather rudely shook me awake, clearly bored because he usually says I'm insufferable when I'm awake and that I should sleep more to give him and Spencer some place and peace, apparently I'm always talking about Brendon but that's just because he's practically my worst enemy, obviously. I still haven't opened my eyes so Jon, being Jon, assumed that I was still sleeping.
"Spence! Get the ice water he's-" I sat p too quickly and felt my eyes temporarily clouding over, "I'm up! I'm up! God." Jon looked pleased but Spencer wore a look of slight disappointment, he slowly lowered the glass of water and ice before grinning and chucking it all over me. I was soaked and shivered as I felt an ice cube slip down my front, they were both trying to suppress their laughter as I huffed, grabbing my clothes and marching into the dorm's bathroom to change into my uniform in peace. As I closed the door I heard the two of them burst into massive fits of laughter, probably rolling around the floor too, knowing them. Oh, how terribly funny, Ryan is now practically frozen because we through water all over him, how amusing are we? ha ha ha.
As I pulled on my clothes, I heard a teacher, probably Mrs Collins, yelling at a student in the next door along. I didn't need to strain to hear it, you cold probably be in China and hear her telling someone not to do something. "HOW DARE YOU YOUNG LADY!? NO MIRANDA! I DON'T CARE IF HE'S YOUR FRIEND! THIS IS A BOYS DORMITORY! GET BACK TO THE GIRLS ROOMS RIGHT NOW AND I MAY NOT PUNISH YOU BUT LISTEN TO ME NOW MADAM, OH YES, MARK MY WORDS, YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS AGAIN! NOW GO!"
I heard the frantic steps of Miranda followed by the clicking or Mrs Collins' heels as they both left the corridor. Pathetic, that's what it was, this school is always talking about making friends for life but here is a perfect example of them being hypocrites, Miranda Hepony is now not allowed to be friends with someone in the dorm along from mine, most likely Jacob Alebs, simply because he is a boy. It's stupid, Miranda does making friends and she clearly wasn't there for the reason Mrs Collins thought as Miranda doesn't even like boys, that is a well known fact throughout the whole school but some teachers, like old Collins clearly just see that as an excuse to go into the wrong dorm.
It's a stupid rule, no boys and girls in each others dorms at any time. Can't they just be friends? Also, you're not stopping much, not many students in the school are straight, not even the head boy, he's pan. I don't know how he became head boy, he's not a bad person at all, but he does act rather differently around the teachers than his friends and anyone else in general. Incase you hadn't noticed, it's an extremely heteronormative school. Probably transphobic too, they broke their own rule by putting trans girls in the boys dorms and trans boys in the girls dorms and and there are absolutely no rules whatsoever about non binary students, they just do the same as they do for binary trans students. Their only argument is "biology" but that's not really even a valid point, just a poor excuse for their shitty behaviour.
Honestly, I hate all of the teachers here apart from three. Mr Weekes, who everyone loves, and when I say everyone, I mean everyone, even Brendon and we never agree on anything. He's really cool and fun, friends with all the students and he won't let anyone call him Sir or Mr Weeks in front of him so we need to say his first name Dallon instead.
Then there is Mr McHealy, he's rather antisocial and not everyone likes him too much but I think he's not that bad. He isn't the typical music teacher, Mr McHealy is quite reserved and doesn't talk much but sometimes he brings his friends in to help us learn things when he feels tired, once his brother was playing bass so loud a teacher from the other end of the department came in to tell us to be quiet, the head ended up coming in and kicking him out, that was the last head though, we have a new one now, she's the last teacher in this hellhole I quite like.
She's quite short with dark red hair and a semi permanent smile on her face. She seems like the nicest person alive until you do something to irritate her, then she becomes a time bomb, ticking away to the next detention. One kid called Brent once said that the reason she was an orphan {a well known fact} is because her parents died at the sight of her. It was a stupid insult and I'm sure if he knew he was going to get four months worth of detention he would have thought about something ruder to say, anyway, he deserved it, it wasn't her fault she had no parents and Brent knew that, if someone said that to me I would have done the same thing.
She is called Miss Caliban and is the third and final decent adult in the school. She's quite fond of books and tends to be seen with ones about lions, apparently they fascinate her and you never know when you will need to escape from a pair of hungry felines. She really wants the school to become more inclusive but the board won't have any of it, the only one who seems to fully agree is her boyfriend, she has never said his name, she says it's for his own safety but she call him J when she talks about him to our class and on occasion, JS. Nobody is that interested in her to try to find out is name but we all guess and sometimes think about what JS could stand for. Nobody has seemed to have gotten it so far, all we know is that J is his first initial and S is his last.
I sighed as I opened the door and went to sit on my bed, waiting for Jon and Spencer to be ready so we could leave the room together.
{First chapter! What do you think? Should I continue it?}
