"oooh-kay chat, this isn't working. any tag suggestions?" you drummed your fingers along your keyboard, light enough for it to not register while waiting for your fans to cough up omegle tags.

"minecraft... that's a good one! erm, fortnite, also good, but i don't want to match with children..." you scrolled through the wall of text.

"let's try this," you suggested, finally beginning to type. "tiktok, guitar, singing, youtube... and siege. pretty much explains my content, no?" without waiting for a response, you entered the unrestricted service and was ready to roll.

your first match was a young girl standing alongside her friend, both of them blankly watching their screen in hopes for entertainment.

"hi!" you politely chirped, sitting up in your seat. "i'm doing song requests for p—"

before you could finish your sentence, the girls skipped you, leaving you on an empty webcam.

"well—" you giggled lightly, unsure of where to look. "guess that's an L."

you searched again, this time meeting a man around your age holding a bong.

"what's up?" he calmly asked before taking a hit. "my intake level is high and my attention span is low. do something."

"i'll tell you what i can do," you began, grinning. "i can sing! anything you want me to do?"

"lame." without further interaction, the chat ended. you cleared your throat, blacking out the screen in between people to make sure you didn't violate any twitch rules by exposing someone jerking it.

"that's a penis... that's tits... that's a simulated webcam of markiplier..." you rested your head on your palm as your other hand clicked past the waves of nudity.

at long last, a person with a decent camera appeared. they sat in their chair, one leg tucked under the other. the camera did not go much farther than their collarbone.

"this angle is sussing me out," you admitted out loud, watching the person's movement react to your statement. "are you gonna start jerking off?"

a medium-pitched chuckle graced your ears and you found yourself grinning politely. you hesitantly revealed the screen to your stream.

"depends, what have you got to offer me?" he replied. his voice was full of charisma, cheerful yet teasing.

"gross," your smile faltered and you hovered over the skip button. your chat was flying past your second monitor but you attempted to focus on the man on your screen.

"wait-wait-wait—!" the man held out a single palm to you, and you discreetly admired his strong build. "please don't skip, i've been looking for people all day."

"for...?" you raised an eyebrow.

"you see, i just got this—" he reached over and revealed a pink guitar with a hello kitty design. you tried not to laugh. "—i got it for christmas and i learned a couple songs, i was looking for feedback."

"why didn't you say that sooner? i love me a guy who can shred."

"i-i only know two songs, did you wanna hear the first one?"

"lay it on me."

fidgeting, he placed his fingers on the frets, his other hand dramatically ready to strum. your vulnerability was punished with a horrendous combination of chords, a song you did not know yet sounded familiar played with the least amount of grace.

"okay, okay—" you interrupted. "i've already got some advice." he laid his guitar on his hip, his right arm hanging off of it. "you're doing what's called the death grip, you're gonna wanna..." you reached your hands out but remembered he's on a screen. tapping your chin, you grabbed your own guitar, a black one with a purple pearlescent finish.

you held the guitar with ease, a sense of familiarity washing over you. to show his error, you looped your thumb around the top of the guitar with your left hand.

"you wanna do this instead," you moved your thumb to the back of the guitar's neck. "it's much less straining, trust me."

"you're good at this," he confessed. "now i'm almost too scared to show you the other song i know."

"please don't! i'm sorry if i caused any issues, please continue!" you pleaded, captivated with the faceless man.

"okay, i just learned this one last night," with no gap for you to add your thoughts, he stood up straight and his fingers dragged along the neck of the guitar. just as fast as you could blink, he began tapping his guitar, playing a song only a professional would know. you laughed in complete bewilderment.

"what the fuck?" you blurted with a confused grin. "is that...for the love of god by steve vai?" he did not answer however and instead continued to play the song, vigorously and damn near destroying his fingers playing.

your eyes glittered in awe as you admired the skill in front of you, taking in every movement and subtly glancing at the veins in his arm.

forgetting you were streaming, you turn to your chat, still seeing it go insane from the encounter.

not bothering to ask any questions, you watched as he hit the final notes and settling back down.

"you motherfucker," you finally let out. "i was out here teaching you the ropes and this is what i get in return?"

he let out a great laugh, pressing his hand against his chest.

"i'm sorry, i'm sorry, you were too kind to me, thank you," he chuckled. "but yeah, i'm new to guitar and—"

"oh, shush!" you interrupted lightheartedly. "we all know you're bullshitting!"

"oh, you'll make me blush," his hand moved from his chest to his cheek, which you could not see. "but! i'm not the only guilty one, i see you've got a guitar, now you gotta show me."

"my skill is nothing compared to yours—!"

"ah, ah, ah," he teased. "pretty girl with pretty guitar. i want in."

"smooth," you smirked into your webcam before looking down at your own guitar. deciding to play the song 'paranoid' by black sabbath, you picked your favorite thirty seconds of the song and began to strum, focusing on the rhythm.

his hands clasped together and watched in a polite silence. his demeanor suggested interest and pride.

you finished and looked up to the faceless being. he held a thumbs up.

"that was great, dude!" he complimented. "you've got some real skill, please never stop persuing what you enjoy."

"it was a real pleasure meeting you, even if you have no face and catfished me with your god-given talent," you were ready to skip to the next person yet you felt a twinge in your chest over the sadness of losing contact with someone so charismatic.

"before you go, here," he reached over and the omegle chat told you he was typing. "add me. let's make a duet sometime."

TheDooo#4877 :)

you copied the name into your discord, adding the account that came up.

"i'll see you around?" his voice seemed hopeful. you giggled at his uncertainty.

"yep," you nodded once. "see you around, you catfish."
