Kellin's P.O.V
Here we go again. I think, staring up into the giant gates in front of the monumental building a few metres away from me. It's tall shadow loomed over me, and the gates creaked loudly as I opened them. Turning behind me, I see my Aunt's car already speeding down the drive. Ah well, didn't need her anyway.
I was surprised when I walked through the front entrance to see a modern styled reception, the front of which sat a lady that looked to be in her fifties. She beamed almost too enthusiastically at me as I approach her small counter. "You must be Mr. Kellin Quinn?" she asks, kindly. I nod, and she pulls out a book and a laminated piece of paper, placing them in front of me. "This is your planner, and your floor map. There are no lessons for you tonight or tomorrow, so please do take a look around. Oh, and Mr Sykes would like to see you as soon as possible too, dear." I pick up the papers and she gives a small smile, "You are in room 147, do you need any help with your suitcase?"
"No thank you," I reply timidly, looking down at my small suitcase and rucksack, before walking through the door she had just buzzed open for me.
There is no noise as I enter the corridor. It stretched out for what looked like miles, the walls littered with doors, windows and some fact tiles. It had just gone four, so people were probably about to get out of lessons soon.
I fumble with the small map, and turn at the corner, not looking up
"Hey, watch it!"
I quickly look up, and my eyes widen when I see a boy around my age stand in in front of me with drink spilled down his shirt. "Fuck I'm so sorry!" I try to wipe it of but he pushes me harshly away from him, crumpling up his Monster can and standing directly in front of me.
"Get out of my way." He growled quietly. I comply by quickly walking past him, receiving a bash from his shoulder, which he no doubt did purposefully. "Watch your-" he was cut off when I turned another corner, and slammed a set of double doors. I'm not going to waste my time getting on the wrong side of a maniac on the first day.
Principle Sykes, I read internally, standing in front of a large door. I take a deep breath before giving it a swift knock. "I've been expecting you, come in."
I walk Into Mr Sykes' ginormous office. He was sat on a desk chair, his feet placed casually atop his polished wooden desk and his Apple Mac on his lap. He looked to be in his late twenties, which made me wonder how such a young man managed to get a job as a Headmaster.
I look up at him, and could see a small tattoo on the side of his face beside his eye. "N-nice tattoo sir.." I start, making conversation. He smiles at me and flicks his hair over.
"A shy one, are we?" he chuckles, "Welcome to Applestone high, Kellin."
Sykes swiftly pulls my hand into his and gives it a firm shake, "you have nice hands.." he purrs. Reluctantly he pulls his arm away from me and runs a hand through his hair, "I take it you've have your planner?" he asks.
I nod and pull it out of my bag, taking in his strong british accent. He takes it off me and writes somethin in it with a mischievious smirk spread across his lips. They part to speak, but before he could say anythingthere is a knock at the door. Growling in frustration, Sykes closes my planner and hands it back to me before standing up and escorting me to the office door.
"Ol- Mr Sykes." a voice greets the headmaster as the door opens, "And Quinn." It was the woman from the front desk. "Im afraid I need to speak to you about Victor.."
"I'm sorry, but you have to go" Sykes says, before pulling the receptionist into his office and slamming the door shut.
What a strange man, I think as I exit the office and head towards where I expected my dorm to be.
