The wee hours of the night were crawling towards their end. The dark blue night sky was adorned by a crescent moon that did its best to light up the dark sky. The beach was empty. Only the sound of the gushing waves hitting the rocks and leaves rustling in the breeze accompanied the two young lovers who were sitting on a swing, amidst the gentle warm glow of fairy lights that lit up the darkness around them.Arthit had reached late. By the time he and Bright had managed to reach the beach, the final ceremony had ended. He was feeling bad about missing his boyfriend's last duty as a head hazer, while Kongpob was happy with just having Arthit there. He had not expected that Arthit would make it, knowing he had to work till late in the evening. And after hearing Bright blurt out that Arthit was the eager one to come, he felt special. The proof was the constant smile on his face since Arthit joined them.
They strolled around the beach for a while, enjoying the fresh air clearing the mild buzz from their controlled drinking. Seeing the swing both decided to sit there. Since the resort was booked by SSU to accommodate the entire fresher's batch, there were no other guests in the resort. And the ones present were at the moment lost in peaceful slumber post their night of fun and drinks. That left the Phi-Nong alone on the beach with no one to disturb their time.
"Do you want to sleep for some time, P'? You won't be able to sleep when you get back."
"It's ok Kong. I only have a few hours of work at the office. I should be able to sleep after I get back to the condo."
"Once you get back to Bangkok, please send me a message."
"Sure. Don't worry. Bright would have slept enough by the time we leave. It's safe."
Kongpob smiled. But he couldn't hide the disappointment marring his face. He hated that his boyfriend had to go back so soon. He wished Arthit could stay for the rest of the trip and go back with him. Arthit hardly did get time these days. Always busy working overtime most of the evenings.
"Do you have to leave right away?" Kongpob asked. He knew the answer to it but still hopeful, he blurted out the question.
Arthit nodded. "Yes!" Even he felt bad about leaving.
"Okay, Khap!" Kongpob's voice was low and sad. Arthit knew how his junior felt. He smiled. It felt good to know that your boyfriend loved you so much that he felt sad at the idea of separation. Albeit a short one. But still.
