It was the middle of the night and Olivia and Peter had finally come back to their duty as superheroes. Spider-Man was waiting for his companion on her building's rooftop until she finally appeared.
"Olly!" He took his mask off and approached her, however, as he got closer, he noticed how stiff she looked, how uncomfortable she seemed when her eyes met his. So he slowed down and stopped right in front of her. She mentally thanked him for not kissing or hugging her. The tension and anxiety was still present in her head ever since the dream she had a week prior to that night. She avoided every physical contact with him at all costs.
"Hey, Peter..." She shyly waved at him and grabbed the mask he was holding in his hands.
"Don't take it off, dummy. Secret identity." She smiled kindly at him as she put it back on his face.
"Yeah, right. How stupid of me."
"Don't worry. Are you ready for tonight?" The boy looked at the dark city with a nostalgic emotion.
"I don't know. Five years have passed. Do they still need us?"
"Of course they do."
"But who will help us now? Mr. Stark is gone." In that moment she put her fears aside and gave him a squeeze, reassuring him.
"We have each other. I know it'll be hard but we have to try."
"I miss him." He finally chocked our after a long pause, catching her completely off guard.
"I miss him too, Peter. But we can't bring him back. We'll have to learn it, whether we like or not."
"I know, it's just..."
"He was not my father, but he was an awesome dad to me."
"Exactly. How'd you know?"
"I felt like that too. Look, we've never had a stable fatherly figure in our lives and when we finally had one we... we just seeked validation. Maybe the next person we should seek validation from is ourselves."
"Did you use your knowledge from physiology class?"
"I did."
"I think I'll join that class too, then." His comment lightened up the atmosphere, it even made Olivia chuckle.
"Okay, goofball. You ready now?"
"More than ready." And with that, they started their quest around the city.• • •
"Olivia, do you know where my-" Harry started asking when he got in her room, but found nobody.
"Olivia?" He called, calmly, while inspecting the room in search for her. He might've not found her, but noticed the open window that lead to the fire escape, therefore, to the open city.
"Seriously? You're gonna be so fucked if mom and dad find out about this..." He mumbled to himself as he climbed out of the window to find her since she left her phone on her drawer.
"Olivia! Olivia!" He yelled in the middle of the night.
"Whatcha doin' there boy? Looking for your girlfriend?" A buff guy in a black hoodie asked, his voice low and raspy.
"No, my sister actually. Have you seen her? Blonde, small, sarcastic..." The teenager replied, not having any suspicions on him because of his naiveness. All his life he had been shielded by his older sister, and even when she disappeared, his parents made sure he was protected and supervised at all hours, he wasn't supposed to end like Olivia.
"Listen up, she's gonna be the last one of your problems right now. Boys!" Other three figures appeared, it was at this moment Harry understood the situation he got himself into and rolled up his sleeves, ready to fight.
"Don't try to mess with me, I'm captain of the football team at my school!"
"Do we look like we care? Come on guys." How was he gonna get out of that situation? He was screwed.

"Good job out there." Peter said to Olivia after taking on a group trying to rob a jewelry, they tied them up to a street lamp and celebrated their success on top of a building.
"Thanks, you weren't too bad yourself, Spider-Man."
"I don't know why I was so worried before. This city is full of criminals!"
"You say this as a good thing." Olivia assumes with an arched brow and a hint of what could've been a smirk.
"Well, not really-I mean... What I'm trying to say is-fuck." She giggled at his nervousness, causing him to relax instantly at the sound of her happiness.
"I was kidding. I know what you meant. I feel the same way."
"You do?"
"Of course I do. Listen, Peter, I was just as scared as you tonight."
"Then why didn't you say anything?"
"I... I don't know. I guess I didn't want to bug you with my stupid thoughts."
"Olivia..." He gently held her hand and placed over his chest.
"I'm always here for you. You know it. Please don't hold anything back in. Express your feelings. Talk to me."
"Hey, I'm the future psychologist here, not you." She replied, trying to enlighten the mood.
"I'm serious, Ol. I can't stand watching you keep everything to yourself. Come on, I'm listening."
"What's there to say? I was just scared, that's it."
"We both know that's not the only thing bothering you." She looked away, immediately knowing what he was referring to.
"Why have you been so distant lately? Did something happen? Was it my fault?"
"No! God, no." She answered immediately, almost as a reflex.
"It's not your fault, Peter."
"Then what is it?"
"It's just... ugh." She groaned, angry at herself for not being capable at being honest.
"I had a dream about us." His face lit up as he rose his mask up, just enough to show his chiseled jawline and thin lips.
"Us? What were we doing?" The blush i'm here face was immediately visible, he'd never thought she could turn such shade of red.
"Let's just say it started good, very good. And then things ended up badly because of me." He was confused as to what she was referring to. The way she said "very" for the second time was supposed to help him out to understand the nature of the dream, but he was still clueless about it.
"Badly? What are you talking about?"
"I'm scared of hurting you, okay?" She finally admitted, low voice, barely audible to him.
"What if I accidentally hurt you because I let my feelings take over me?"
"That could never happen."
"How do you know? I can enter the maximum state at will now, yes, but... I can either awaken it because I want to or because I let emotions take over me. And when I enter it because of the second option I can't control what I do, what happens. I'm afraid I can't tame myself and—"
"This-this is ridiculous, Olivia." He took a few steps closer to him, unable to comprehend what she had just told him.
"I know you and I've seen you every time you were on that state. I know how to bring you back in case you lose control. Either way, you've never hurt me once while you were into it." He tilted his head and looked at her right in the eyes.
"Is that why you've been avoiding me? Because you're too scared to hurt me?"
"Well, yes but-" Then his mouth took an "O" shape as he finally understood what her dream was probably about. He was pleasingly surprised to know the effects he had on her. He'd never thought he'd have such an influence on her.
"Does that mean I make you lose control?" He asked in a low, husky voice, purposely trying to enlighten a spark in her.
"D—Don't say it like that!"
"Oh my gosh you're totally into me!"
"Just shut up already!"
"Make me." He said in a teasing tone. Now that he knew how he could made her feel like he felt more confident, more in control, something he had never been in his entire life.
"Parker..." She warned, but he only got even closer, almost closing the gap between the two, tension rising among them.
"Or what?" Just as she was about to reply to him, her ears got her distracted because of a familiar voice.
"Don't try to mess with me, I'm captain of the football team at my school!" It was Harry's voice. She looked down at the street and noticed his figure, surrounded by other four unknown ones.
"Do we look like we care? Come on guys." She knew exactly what their intentions were and what she had to do. She couldn't let him get hurt.
"Harry!"
