A Shoulder to Lean On (1D Short Story)

Before anything else, I want to thank all of you who is reading this. I'm a newbie here and this is my first story. I just hope you like it. x

Sheila's POV

"So you're breaking up with me?"

"I'm sorry Sheila but I need to."

"But why? I thought you're going to fight for me."

"I did. But receiving death threats about you won't let me sleep at night. I love you, okay? But I can't bear when people are putting threats on your security."

"Do you really think they can do it?"

"I knew their group. It's a group from Iran and they're terrorists. I witness how they do war."

I didn't answer. Maybe he was right. Maybe he just wanted to protect me. But what will life be without him?

"We can still be friends you know." He finally said.

I don't know what to say. I just feel speechless. I can't believe this is happening. I can feel my tears running down my face so I just turn back and start to walk but he grabs me by my arm.

"I'm letting you go. Our relationship may end today but my love for you will last forever."

More tears fell down. I grab my hand back and run. I can't stand it. He broke up with me. Zayn... I love you.

Zayn's POV

It was not until last night that I received the most threatening death threat. It's not for me. It's for my lady, Sheila. It was from Isham, a terrorist group from Iran.

I didn't know that this would ever happen. We went through X Factor and every rumour but all of these we're able to surpass. When X Factor ended, more fans emerged. But as they grow in number, haters also grow in number. They start sending threats to me and to Sheila. I can bear all threats for me but not for Sheila. I can't lose her. I can't afford to lose my love.

So now I'm on my way to Nandos. I want to see her even for the last time.

"Sheila, you know I love you and I can't afford to lose you. But uhmm, I'm just wondering..."

"If I also love you? Why? You're doubting me?"

"No. I know you love me. I can feel it. But there's some kind of thing that hinders our relationship."

"What do you mean?"

"I think our relationship is not working out anymore."

"So you're breaking up with me?"

"I'm sorry Sheila but I need to."

"But why? I thought you're going to fight for me."

"I did. But receiving death threats about you won't let me sleep at night. I love you, okay? But I can't bear when people are putting threats on your security."

She didn't answer. But I can see through her eyes that she doesn't want to split up with me. Neither I.

"We can still be friends you know." I finally said.

Still, no answer. If you only knew Sheila. I don't want to split up with you too but if this is the only way to save you I'm willing to suffer.

I saw that she's starting to cry. She turns her back. I know she'll be going away now so I grab her arm.

"I'm letting you go. Our relationship may end today but my love for you willl last forever."

She didn't answer. Instead, she grabs her arm back and run. She's crying.

Stupid me. Why did I let go of the girl I love? But I did it for her sake. I don't want her to be harmed so I split up with her.

Tears start to fall from my eyes. I don't normally cry for girls but Sheila... she's different. I love her so much more than anybody else.
