A quirkless boy sat in his room, alone. He hissed as he jabbed a syringe filled with chemicals into his arm. No matter how many times he did this, he forgot to numb the area first.
No one really knew that he did it, just himself.
Why was he injecting himself with chemicals? Well, he was trying to give himself a quirk, so that way people wouldn't hate him.
Of course, his mom loved him anyway, but the rest of the world rejected him over and over. But if he had a quirk, he would be normal, like everyone else. Then he wouldn't be hated. And, if he had a quirk, he could be a hero, like he always wanted to!
Except things never go as planned, do they?

Inko could tell, Izuku had a fever. He was way to warm to be healthy. "You're staying in bed today, understand?" She told him. Izuku was about to protest, but she just told him "I can't let you go to school if you're sick, and you have a fever."
So he just nodded instead.
It wouldn't be that bad. He could easily catch up on his work the next day.
He just hoped that it wouldn't last for too long.

It had gotten worse.
The fever had started out a normal fever, but had quickly escalated into a high fever of 106 degrees Fahrenheit.
Meaning he had to go to the hospital.
Meaning that his secret would be revealed.
Izuku didn't want that. Then people would only hate him and judge him more. He didn't think he could take much more.
Should've thought of that before you injected yourself with chemicals.
He just wanted a quirk. He wanted a quirk so he could become a hero and save people. Like All Might.
Izuku shuddered as they entered the hospital, straight to the Emergency room.
His mom was saying something, but he didn't hear it.
He was in a daze, from the chemicals or from his emotions, he wasn't sure.
At some point, he must've fell asleep, because everything was suddenly dark.

"Ms. Midoryia, we have made a rather disturbing discovery regarding your son's condition" one of the nurses informed Inko. They had just finished examining and treating the sleeping boy.
This only increased Inko's worry, "what is it? Will my baby be ok?"
"We can't be too sure on it.. his body is filled with chemicals that shouldn't be there, which are creating a chemical reaction within his body. We've never seen anything like this with these specific chemicals, so we don't know what will happen to him." He sighed, "our question for you is, why does he have these chemicals inside of him?"
Inko stared at the nurse, shocked. "I.. I don't know... I don't see any reason why my Izuku has chemicals in him... I had no idea about this..!"
A voice groaned behind them. "It... w-was me... I-I d-did it..."
Izuku. They turned to look at him. He was lying still on the hospital bed, barely moving other the rise and fall of his chest, and blinking.
"How long have you been awake?"
"About when you said something about a chemical reaction in my body? Why is it important when I woke up?" Izuku said, though his words seemed to slur together.
Inko started tearing up at his statement, "Izuku, why would you do something like that to yourself?" She practically cried.
Izuku looked away, trying to avoid eye contact, as a guilty expression crossed his face. "I-I'm s-sorry.... It's just... e-everyone hates me b-because I'm q-quirkless.... s-so I thought th-that maybe I could g-give myself a quirk a-and then p-people would be n-nicer but now e-everyone will j-just think I'm a freak b-because I injected myself w-with so many d-different chemical a-and I sh-should've thought it through a-and now I h-hurt you b-because I p-probably won't survive a-and then y-you'll be sad a-and I don't want you to be sad-"
"I'm sorry, Izuku! I should've seen that you were hurting! I've been such a bad parent-"
Both of them had started crying, and the nurse just left to let them be.

Izuku was going to have to stay in the hospital, either until his condition became stable, or the doctors managed to remove the chemicals.
Problem was, most of them had mixed with the chemicals that made up his cells. And yes, cells are technically made of chemicals.
The days all blurred together to Izuku.
Inko would come to visit him alot, of course, but everything else just sort of.. happened.Until he started to melt. It happened incredibly slow, so the moment it was noticed, he was moved into a laboratory and put inside of a test tube, so that if he completely melted, his body would all be together.
It had started at his fingers. Then his face started to melt as well. After his legs had started to turn to liquid, Izuku's entire body melted much faster than before, resulting in a puddle of bright green slime-like liquid in the bottom of the test tube.
Izuku was surprised that he was still alive like this, although he couldn't see, hear, taste, smell, or talk.
He could feel things still, though. For example, he could feel that he was much warmer than he should be. He could also feel the cool glass against the outer edges of his slime body.
It definitely felt weird, though. Slime was a liquid, and he was not supposed to be a liquid.
Actually, it reminded him of the quirk of that sludge villain, except he didn't have eyes or a mouth.
After a while, he started cooling down, which caused him to start to change back into a solid. However, rather than in the shape of his body, he formed into a shapeless green blob, and almost instantly, Izuku forced his eyes, mouth, nose, and ears to form from his body (?), so that he'd actually be able to interact with things.
The first thing he heard was a scientist screaming at him.
