One of the scientists screeched at the sight. A face just appeared on a strange green blob that was slime just a second ago.
She worked in a different department, so she didn't know anything about the slime.
"Ack! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you!" It apologized quickly, and she just ran off.

Izuku squirmed around in the test tube, starting to get restless. He was still just a green blob of... whatever substance was left of him. He could move around easily, but he just couldn't figure out how to reform his body.
That was fine though. Being... whatever he was, wasn't all that bad, other than the fact that he couldn't leave the test tube.
What he could only assume was his stomach kept on gurgling, though. He thought he probably was just hungry, and could ask for food the next time someone came to check on him.
But then he felt something coming up his throat(?) and started gagging violently.
And then the hospital gown he was wearing came out of his mouth, covered in what was most likely mucus.
"Huh... my body must've absorbed it after I melted... weird" Izuku mumbled, poking at it.
He couldn't do anything with it, with his body in this state. If he tried to put it on, he would just slip right through it. He couldn't really pick it up, seeing as he didn't have hands.

One of the scientists had come to check up on Izuku, and he definitely didn't expect to see a hospital gown lying on the ground within the test tube.
"I'm sorry I made a mess.." Izuku apologized the second that the scientist came. There was bile and stomach acid all over the place.
"It's fine.. we were just going to test you to see if you're stable enough to leave anyway."
Izuku hummed in response, allowing the scientist to scrape some of the clear glossy substance off of his green body, and into a much smaller test tube. His skin secreted more of the substance soon after. The scientist then used a thermometer to check out his temperature.
He was a few degrees above room temperature, which meant that he was either cold-blooded, or his body's preferred temperature had dropped.
The scientists would have to do some tests on the substance from his skin, and then they would (hopefully) be able to let him go home.
They had fed him aswell, of course.

When Izuku was finally able to leave, he still hadn't figured out how to change his body back. Honestly, he was beginning to doubt that he'd be able to at all. Inko had ended up cradling him in her arms, and he had stayed in her lap during the whole car ride. In this state, he was alot smaller, and he wouldn't be able to buckle the seat belt probably without slipping through.
Izuku must've fallen asleep, because by the time he woke up, they were already back inside their apartment. Izuku was placed on the couch, while his mom was in the kitchen, making dinner.
Izuku hadn't been told much about his condition, and he was extremely curious. He naturally wanted to analyze his new state, whether it could be used as a quirk or not, if he'd be able to do new things that he couldn't before, how it was possible for him to be so small, etc etc.
The scientists had told Inko, on the other hand, so that she could take care of him.
He decided that he could ask her about it.

Inko told Izuku everything he needed to know. The glossy stuff on his body was poison, though it didn't effect him. The scientists suspected that his insides were poisonous as well, since the bile from him throwing up had traces of poison. His body was a conductor for heat and electricity, unlike how usually human skin was an insulator. He was also able to be magnetized, due to particles of metal within his body.
The scientists also had an idea of how he would be able to change his body back to normal, though he would wait until he was alone to do that, so he could put clothes on after. When he did, his body would be much more stretchy and flexible, and he would easily be able to change back into his smaller blob-like form whenever he wanted.
Similar to cold-blooded animals, his body didn't change temperature on its own anymore. However, that was because his body didn't really have a specific heat it needed to be at in all times. Instead, his body could easily survive anything from -10 degrees Fahrenheit, to the boiling point of water. His body had a melting point of 200 degrees Fahrenheit, though.
(No, he was not that hot when he first melted. That time, his melting point was alot lower because them chemicals in his body were still reforming.)
Also, most of his bones had far more elasticity.
Other than that, his body would still function mostly the same.
The one thing Inko hadn't told him, he was no longer considered as human. He sighed softly as his legs started to form, still taking a greenish tint. Izuku was sat on the edge of his bed, examining his reformed body. His skin was glossy, and had a tint of green a little bit lighter than his hair and eyes. He wouldn't be able to remove of the tint. The color would be a reminder of how desperate he was to fit in, and his horrible decision.
Izuku got dressed quickly, accidentally glancing in the mirror.
"Hey.. the green skin doesn't actually look too bad.." he whispered to himself.

Inko had started to homeschool Izuku, knowing that the pressure from what had happened would be too much for him. Plus, she thought that it was likely that bullies were a big part in his attempt to give himself a quirk.
"Hey.. mom?" Izuku asked, suddenly.
"Yes sweetie?" Inko replied.
"Now that I have these abilities...
Would I be able to enter UA's hero course?"
