Reese ran to the cafeteria, jumping up to slam her hand against the top of the doorway. She heard someone cheer at her action. She turned to see Samuel, standing to her right. He was nervously smiling, like he was afraid of making confrontation. "Hey Samuel!" Reese waved and smiled, giving him a small hug.
Samuel just smiled and patted her back. "Hey Reese.." He said quietly."Oh- hey, do you wanna come sit with me for lunch?" Reese asked. "Well, I have no one else to sit with, so sure!" Samuel said and gave his sweet and shy smile.
Reese took his hand and started to lead him around the cafeteria, looking around the tables to find her friends. Soon she saw Jordan sitting at one of the tables, listening to music with some wireless headphones.
She gave Samuel a glance, putting a finger to her lip to tell him she was about to do something. Reese snuck up behind Jordan, then grabbed her sides and made the red haired girl squeal.
People gave glances, but that didn't stop Reese from laughing like a hyena. "thAT'S NOT FUNNY!" Jordan squeaked, stomping her foot angrily. "Oh, but it really is.." Reese wheezed, sitting down in one of the seats beside Jordan. She patted the seat on her right, motioning Samuel to sit beside her.
Samuel did, smiling at the two girls. "Samuel, you've met Jordan. Jordan, you've met Samuel" Reese said.
"Yo" Jordan gave a small wave and smile at the blonde.
"H-hey.." Samuel gave a jittery wave and anxious smile to the dyed red head.
"Now all we have to do is wait for Vin!" Reese said. "V-vin..?" Samuel asked, his face turning red. "You mean.. as in Vincent? The one with the obsidian black hair, as dark as the beautiful night sky? A-and the bright and shiny hazelnut eyes that you could almost get lost in...?" Samuel got caught up in day dreaming.
"O.M.G- YoU liKe VIn?!" Reese said, her voice cracking in many places. "N-NO!" Samuel squeaked. "Dude- I know a crush when I see one" Jordan said.
"I mean- sure.. I admire him from a far, constantly stare at him in class and down the hallway, hoping he'll glaze his bright and beautiful eyes over me.. and maybe even stay there for a few seconds... b-but NO! I don't like him!" Samuel was obviously completley lovestruck, his whole face was red as he rambled about how beautiful Vin was.. god this boy was so gay.
"Sammy- you don't have to hide the fact that you like boys" Jordan said, patting his hand from across Reese.
"To be fair.. I'm really into girls, like REALLY into them. I've never even had a sexual, not even romantical, thought about a real guy" Jordan said and smiled.
"So.. you accept me for being..." He paused before quietly saying the word "gay..?"
"Hell yeah! Why wouldn't I?! I'm not a homophobe!" Jordan said. "Yeah- neither am I!" Reese said. "I.. have a secret like that too..." She said.
"What? Do you like girls too?" Jordan asked. "If I did- I'd be biologically heterosexual" Reese said.
It took them a while to figure it out. "So.. you're trans?" Samuel asked. Reese nodded, hoping neither of them would freak out. "That's so cool!" Jordan said. "I'd never have the strength to switch.. not like I want to- but even if I did, I'd be too afraid to even utter a word about it" She added.
"Really..?" Reese asked. "Yeah! I'd probably die thinking about changing.." Samuel said.
They all chuckled and laughed at wach other, talking about panicking over gay things and trying hard to be confident in some situations.
"Wow, lots of friendship blossoming here" A soft voice came from behind them. They all turned to see the one and only, Vin.
Samuel's face blossomed into a flush, as red as a rose. He smiled at him. "H-hey Vincent!" He said, his whole body starting to tremble.
"Yo bro! How's Sugar and Spice doing?" Jordan asked. "They're good, I think we may be getting a baby gerbil-" Vin replied. "What, are you gonna name this one 'And Everything Nice'? " Jordan joked.
"Don't give me the idea, I may end up actually using it" Vin said and chuckled.
"Vin! So glad you're here- but wait, how much did you hear??" Reese asked. "Um.. basically all of the gay stuff" Vin said. "But don't worry, I already knew you guys were gay and stuff" Vin said.
"What? How?!" Jordan exclaimed. "I've seen you admire girls from a far, for the whole class period" Vin replied. "Shit u right-" Jordan looked away, embarrassed to be found out by a weeaboo emo.
"Reese, I saw a small note in your writing and it was obvious to tell right as I read it" Vin said.
"And Samuel.. you're a soft boy who stares at guys for hours. It would suprise me if you weren't into guys" Vin said, coughing a bit at the end of the sentence.
Samuel blushed at Vin saying his name, and so comfortably too. He just anxiously laughed.
"Well- should we get lunch?" Jordan asked. The other three nodded as they got up and started heading to the lunch line to get their lunch from the cafeteria. "I'm only going through to stay with y'all, my dad packed me lunch" Reese said.
"Lucky- my parents would have to make 12 other lunches for my siblings" Jordan remarked. The group chuckled at her slight frustration with having so many siblings.
"We barely have any food at my house" Vin said. Samuel looked at him worryingly. "You don't have food at your house?" He asked.
"Not much- we normally eat takeout" Vin said. "Delia's favorite is McDonalds" He added. "So normally we get that"
Samuel nodded, he had calmed down a little bit, but his face was still slightly flusged at being so close to his crush. Vin turned to him, looking concerned at his face being red.
"Do you have a fever?" Vin reached up and put his hand on Samuel's forehead, holding his cheek with his unoccupied hand. Samuel's face burned red, "I-i'm fine! I don't feel sick.." Samuel mumbled.
Vin couldn't tell if Samuel had a fever, so he took his small face mask down and pressed his lips against Samuel's forehead. Samuel squeaked, freaking out as he pushed Vin away. "Vin.. I told you- I'm f-fine!" He mumbled.
Vin's revealed mouth turned into a frown, he sighed. "Alright.. I'm gonna go sit at the table, come back when you have all you food" He said, putting his face mask back on and speed walking back to the table.
"Ooooh~" Both Jordan and Reese came up behind Samuel. Samuel turned to them, "S-stop guys! I don't like him... and he certainly doesn't like me.." He glanced at his emo weeaboo and sighed.
"Alright.. you're no fun" Jordan huffed and crossed her arms. "Let's go back over there, Vin must be gstting lonely.." Samuel mumbled. "Worrying about his health, now his loneliness?" Reese asked.
Samuel grumbled something and started to speed walk over to the table where Vin was sitting at. The two girls followed after him and sat in their seats.
They started to chat about tons of things, Vin kept suggesting animes for the others to watch, Samuel listened to them and added small comments as he picked at his food, and Jordan and Reese were the ones talking the most.
Reese was glad she had met all three of them, they were her new friends. They were funny, kind, understanding, and they made her smile.. They were the beginning of her best year at school.
