A Confusing Yet Stable Introduction

Naruto sighed as team seven walked slowly down the path. Naruto's arms were nestled behind his head comfortably as a bored expression crossed his face.

"What is it now?" Sakura said, obviously fed up with him by this point.

"It's just that, I thought that we'd be going on a real mission this time. Ya know? And if not, we've got to hurry up and complete this one so I can keep training."

"Quit whining. Lady Tsunade assigned us this mission herself. And what do you mean 'real mission'?" Sakura said angrily to Naruto as she placed her hands on her hips and gave him a skeptical face. Naruto kept his eyes closed and hands behind his neck as he continued to answer Sakura.

"Well I mean, we're just delivering some dumb old rock from the Hidden Rock village to some small random village. That doesn't really sound like a real mission to me ya know." Naruto said as he kept his nonchalant expression. Sakura's smoking furry raged out of her and she punched Naruto in the back of his head. Naruto responded by falling face first in the dirt with his butt sticking in the air. A swollen bruise appeared on Naruto's forehead as he cried silently.

"Sakura, why do you have to be such a violent woman?" Naruto asked as he proceeded to stand up and caress his head.

"WHAT WAS THAT?" Sakura asked him, her fist still tight in a ball.

"Nothing!" Naruto cowered like a puppy.

"Ok guys." Captain Yamato intervened, "Although I'm sure Naruto deserves it-"

"-Hey!"

"-You guys should save your energy. We'll be there soon."

"Ok Captain Yamato. Anyways, Naruto, did you even listen to a word Lady Tsunade said about this stone?"

"Uh..." Naruto laughed nervously. "No not really. All I got was rock, Hidden Rock Village, Tsukage favor, and delivery."

"Seriously Naruto?"

"Uh, I was kinda distracted." Naruto rubbed his neck sheepishly.

Team seven stood straight up beside Captain Yamato in front of Lady Tsunade's desk in the Hokage's office. As Tsunade began explaining the mission, Shizune stroked Tonton the pig in her arms.

"Ok team seven. I'm assigning you a mission given to us by the Hidden Rock Village. In this mission..."

"Ow!" Naruto exclaimed as a horse fly took a bite out of the back of his neck. "Stupid horse fly!" Naruto yelled at it, "Think you can take a bite out of me without suffering the consequences you dumb fly!" Naruto continued chasing the fly around the office and finally slapped and crushed it on the wall.

"Ha, take that you dumb fly!"

"Naruto!" Granny Tsunade yelled at him.

"Huh?"

"Did you hear anything I just said about your mission?" The Hokage asked menacingly.

"Oh, uh yeah. Rock, favor for the Tsukage, and delivery." Naruto replied dumbfounded.

"Ok fine. Team seven, you are dismissed. You may leave immediately tomorrow at sunrise." Lady Hokage said mostly to Sakura, Captain Yamato, and Sai.

"Thank you Lady Tsunade." Sakura bowed to her.

"So you didn't hear anything she said!?" Sakura yelled at Naruto. Naruto chuckled nervously.
