It didn't take long before Andy, Indigo and Sam caught up with the rest. The Haunted house was next. "We're supposed to go in pairs." CC announced. From the corner of his eye, Ashley saw Sam turn to Indigo. "Hey Sam! Let's pair up!" Ashley shouted over enthusiastically. He looked back and forth between Andy and Indigo suggestively, trying to send a message. Andy turned to Indigo, and to both his surprise and utter delight, Indigo asked him before he could ask her.
The pair was the last in the group to step into the haunted house, right after Ashley led Sam, who was unsuccessfully trying to mask his reluctance, into the entrance.
It was dark inside, old chandeliers glittered dimly ahead, providing just enough light to allow people to see where they were going. Eerie silence hovered in the room like a dark cloud. There were occasional sounds like footsteps, creaking, and agonized screaming. Then, Andy felt a light tug on his shirt. It was Indigo, clutching onto his shirt while peering around. Her eyes were huge. Andy thought it was adorable, he couldn't help but smile. Indigo noticed Andy staring at her and she let go of his shirt, embarrassed. "Sorry," she whispered, her face burned.
Then, Andy did something he didn't think he would do either. He reached out to grab Indigo's hand. And to his relief, she didn't protest. Instead, she weaved her long, thin fingers between his. He knew he was flushing. He was holding her hand and it made him feel all warm and happy inside.
They came across "ghosts", "vampires" and stuff. Truthfully, it wasn't that scary. But it was great. (Because they were holding hands. :)) as they approached the exit, Andy squeezed Indigo's hand a little tighter, he was afraid she might let go once they got out.
Just then, a man with a mask spewed out from the darkness, interrupting Andy's deep thoughts. He gave a shout of surprise before dealting a punch to the masked man's nose.
Silence.
"You little shit!" The masked man roared all of a sudden. "Run!" Andy yelled. Indigo and Andy broke into a sprint, racing out of the haunted house.
They stopped after they were pretty far from it, panting and gasping, hands on their knees. "Do you think that man's nose is okay?" Indigo asked after a little while. "..." Andy looked at Indigo, who actually looked worried. Then, the two burst out laughing. They laughed so hard it hurt, advancing to the next ride.
Indigo was having the time of her life, she hardly gets to go to theme parks. And She enjoyed Andy's company tremendously. Andy loved the way Indigo was able to make him laugh without even trying.
It might as well have been the best day of their lives. :)
*a note from the author.
I'm about to write 3 whole chapters on a theme park. I guess I could've squeezed all of it into one chapter, but I get tired really easily, so yeah. :) thanks for reading my chapters, (if anyone is reading my chapters, that is. If no one's reading my chapters, I would just feel like a major retard.) I hope you'll come back every now and then to read my new chapters. I really appreciate it!
