17. Oh, this is gonna be a long night.

~Regina's P.O.V~

"What's the point of going if they are expecting us to act civil anyways," Alice whined as we got in the car.

Apparently, we are on our way to a ball that was hosted by the French Mafia, and since what happened last year, Antoine restricted any weapons or any fights that would happen. Antoine Valentin is the head of the French Mafia, took after his father when he graduated from college. He's a little older than me but would still be counted as young, he's in his late 20's.

"Now Alice, settle down and stop whining for fuck's sake, we can't have a repeat of what happened last year, we are trying to get on Antoine's good side or else we lose our alliance with him," my dad shut her up.

We were all sat in the car on our way there while everyone was on their phone. Everyone was dressed nicely tonight, Emily told me that she saw the Demarco's when they got ready and they were out the door, in fact, everyone saw him except for me and Alice as we were running late.

All of us were wearing dresses that would definitely be presentable in a ball, even tho dad didn't approve of Emily's dress as he found it a little clubby (if that's a word) but he let it slide because he knew damn well that if she decided on something she never will change.

"Jesus Christ girls, why are u all wearing black? We are going to a ball not a fucking funeral," he commented on our dresses.

"That's not true, Regina has gold at the bottom of her's," Alice said sarcastically and I had to bite my lips so I won't laugh. Dad just rolled his eyes at us and got out of the car as we have reached.

"Ahhhh, my favorite troublemakers, how I have missed you," Antoine greeted us as he humorously remarked what Alice and I did last year at the ball.

"Hey, Antoine, nice to know that you still have a sense of humor," Alice said sarcastically, she wasn't having it with him. I elbowed her as a sign to control herself.

"Sorry Antoine, we really didn't mean what we did last year, I guess we had a little too much to drink," I said as I put on a smile, ehhh I wasn't that sorry but as dad said, we can't lose our alliance with the French.

"No problem, all is forgiven, don't worry about it," he said as he gave us a huge smile and then excused himself as he had to attend to other guests. We went inside and were met with the guards that would search us as we weren't allowed any type of weapon. Not that we don't sneak them in, anyway, we just don't tell dad so he won't give us his infamous one-hour lecture.

"Emily, ¿estás segura de que los Demarco venían aquí?" I asked as I looked around, I couldn't see them anywhere. (Emily, you sure the Demarco's were coming here?)

"Yeah, dad talked to them and I heard them talk about the ball," she said looking around as well at all guests.

"Why do you care or not? Leave them be, we do not wanna start another fight with anyone," Alice said casually right before some random guy asked her to dance with him, and Alice being Alice said yes.

Emily also ditched me to god knows where so I decided to head to the bar to get a drink.

"Fancy seeing you here, amour," someone said from behind, and without turning around I knew exactly who that is.

Oh, this is gonna be a long night.
