"What do you mean your dad?" He asks and all I can do is stand there.

"My dad is here! That's what I mean.  He's fucking here and we need to get the hell out of here!"

Does he think I'm crazy! No, he wouldn't. Would he?

"Okay lets just get out of here! Uhhhh how do we get out of here exactly?" He asked. I could hear the worry build up in his voice as the words fell out of his shaking lips.

"Maybe we can go out the window?" I asked "Were on the first floor. It's not that far of a jump."

"Good idea lets go."

We quickly open the window trying to be as quiet as possible but that didn't work. I could hear him start beating on the door. With every bang my body trembled.

"I got it, let's go!" Matt slides himself out the window reaching up to help me down. As I start to place my left leg outside the door slams open. It's my dad and he looks furious. He begins to run after me and I just throw myself out of the window. I fall halfway into Matt's arms, still pissed off at what he did. He places my other leg down grabbing my hand and pulling me to the car. I never wanted to touch him but I don't have time to fight against him. His force is strong enough to pull me but so gentle that I feel safe.

I can hear my dad yelling at me while I'm running. Telling me how worthless I am. I can feel the tears build up in my eyes but I don't let him know that he is winning. Matt quickly opens the passenger door letting go of me as he runs to the driver seat. I quickly slam my door shut. Matt doesn't like when you slam his door but I didn't care at this point.

I don't bother to put my seat belt on. I can hear Matt fumble to get his keys and start the car. Stupid Mustang. My truck was so old you didn't even need a key to start it. All you had to do was push the key switch and twist.

"Matt could you start the damn car sometime before we both die!"

"I'm working on it Honey. Calm down." I know he did NOT just call me Honey.

"Don't ever call me honey. You slept with my best friend and now you thin--"

My sentence got cut short due to the car starting and shooting forward. Matt grabs the wheel twisting it and throwing us onto the road.

"Now like I was saying do not ever call me honey. I loved you Matt and you lied to me my whole life. I had dreams that you were the one who hurt me. I was scared of you for years. You led me on without telling me the truth so I ran back to where I thought I was safe. Not to mention you slept with my best friend while I was being beat, raped and scared. It had only been a day and you were on to someone else. Just get me out of here."

"Fine, but I just wanted to have you back, I was lost. She was the only one I could think of to call. I only called to see if she seen you but when I told her what happened she came over for a drink. I was skeptical but when she got there she kept giving me beer after beer. I didn't remember what happened until I woke up to her in my bed. That's when you called me so I kicked her out and came to rescue the love of my life. I don't want anyone but you."

We must have talked for hours because when I looked up we were home. I guess we lost my dad somewhere along the line but I wasn't paying attention.

"Lets go inside okay?" The way Matt said that was sorrowful. Regardless I shook my head and got out of the car. Matt opened the door and we went straight inside.

"Now uhhh. Safya. Will you accept this ring. Regardless of what just happened. I wan tyou to be my wife. Even if you are mad at me right now, just please. We can get through this together. I love you and always will. So will you be my wife?"

"Yea, but don't expect me to forgive you right away. I'll marry you because I love you, but you're putting clean sheets on the bed and I'm sleeping there." I state blankly.

"Well where am I sleeping?" He asked already knowing the answer.

"On the couch."
