Author-chan: Is everyone here?
Hazel: Yeah, except Piper.
Frank: And Zia.
Will & Bianca: And Nico.
Author-chan: *nervously sweats*
Will: Can I have the first question?
Author-chan: As long as you don't try to kill me.
Will: No promises. Why did you kill off Nico?
Author-chan: I wanted to break the stereotype of Bianca dying in every fanfiction she's in, since she was such a strong character in the books, so I killed Nico instead. However, it took me three days to write that last line, and when I finally did, I was contemplating whether to do it or not, considering I wanted to live. And I still wanna live. *eyes Will and Bianca nervously*
Will: I still want to watch you slowly die.
Author-chan: Yay...
Bianca: What in hell inspired Mars' character?
Author-chan: I went off that line in The Lightning Thief, where Ares said "There's nothing like watching relatives fight." After that, I imagined a psycho mad-man.
Bianca: Great job on the psycho mad part.
Author-chan: Why thank you.
Hazel: Was all the horrors and torture you put me and the other slaves through historically accurate?
Author-chan: Actually, yes. Unfortunately, slaves were seen as 3/5 of a human. Unlike in Canada, or even the West Indies, America was a horrible slave nation. If you were a slave in America, it was unlikely for you to live past thirty or forty. In all the slave nations, America was the worse.
Frank: Was it common for slaves to attack their masters?
Author-chan: Slave revolts were rare, since plantation masters had strong, unwavering grips on their slaves mentality.
Will: How long did it take you to find the poisons used to kill the Di Angelos?
Author-chan: I'll admit, I didn't look it up. Warfarin wasn't discovered until the early 1900's, but the other poisons, vegetable poison and Strychnine were around that time, and...I don't know if Strychnine was available, but vegetables were. I wouldn't be shocked if Mars learned to make it.
Bianca: Why should we not kill you?
Author-chan: Because I need to finish this book. *nervously sweats* *swallows hard*
Hazel: What gave you the idea for this book?
Author-chan: A lesson in Social Studies. Actually, my teacher gave me an assignment to write a short story as life as a slave, and I got the idea from that. Micah was a character in that story.
Frank: What was the slave mortality rate?
Author-chan: 97.6 out of 1,000
Frank: Schist
Author-chan: Yeah
Will: What was LGBTQ+ like in America and Canada?
Author-chan: The last known man to be persecuted for sodomy in Canada was put to death in the 17 century.
Will: How?
Author-chan: The Gallows.
Will: Oh gosh.
Author-chan: Being a gay, trans, bi, or queer person was, in one word, illegal. But Canada was one of the first countries to accept them. In the 1960's, the first gay couple was legally married.
Bianca: Do you identify as anything?
Author-chan: Asexual .
Hazel &Frank: Really?
Author-chan: Surprised?
Both: *nodding*
Will & Bianca: Yes.
Author-chan: Any more questions or death threats?
Bianca: Hope you find Mars.
Author-chan: Thank you for that. Moving on, Thank you everyone!!!
This story was one close to my heart, especially because as a black person this is my history. I enjoyed doing all the research and studying for this. I appreciate all the comments and votes, thank you all. Honestly, I was afraid this book was getting boring.
I wanna give a special shout out to @OphiliaTheAsianPanda , @loser_inHufflepuff43 , and @1HMB14 for their support and comments. They basically vote on every chapter, and they are amazing for it.
I love all of my readers (platonically) and thank you for your patience with the slow updates. I love Frazel, as it is my otp within this fandom, and I hope they can get more recognition.
Goodbye for now, Chao!
Bianca, Will, Hazel and Frank: Bye!!!
